Position Description: Development Manager – West Coast

Through the Technology Service Corps (TSC) we build brighter futures for underserved young adults and veterans by providing free technology and professional skills training. Through The Community Corps (TCC) we mobilize tech community volunteers to help schools and nonprofits use technology more effectively and to develop the next generation of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) talent.

NPower has offices in NYC (Brooklyn and Harlem), North Texas (Dallas and Fort Worth), the San Francisco Bay area (San Mateo), New Jersey (Jersey City) and Toronto, Canada. NPower is looking to expand to additional regions across North America.

NPower is seeking a dynamic senior professional to lead the West Coast Development activities. Strong candidates will have proven, senior level, relationship development skills and be excited by the opportunity to work closely with a broad range of constituencies including leading IT executives, corporations, foundations, government, education and community partners to grow and support NPower’s mission in the San Francisco Bay area. Key to success is the ability to develop relationship with C-Level corporate executives as well as Executive Directors of leading non-profits and Educators. A successful candidate for this position must also have a proven track record of successful fundraising from various sources, such as corporations, foundations and individuals.

Responsibilities

·  Lead all NPower development activities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

o  Identify / cultivate San Francisco Bay Area supporters / funders in coordination with and with the support of NPower Network development staff.

§  Cultivate existing and new San Francisco Bay Area based corporate, foundation and high net worth partners

§  Source and assist with proposal submissions and grant reporting to regional funders

§  Develop and manage regional fundraising, community and partnership events

o  Partner with the San Francisco Bay Area Regional Director to promote NPower in the region.

o  Work with the Chief Development Officer and the San Francisco Bay Area Regional Director to build the development plan for the region and implement the plan.

o  Coordinate with the central development staff to create the required grant requests

o  Represent NPower in San Francisco Bay Area community and other activities

o  Expand donor identification, tracking, cultivating, solicitation and stewardship of donors to ensure understanding, interest and involvement with NPower

·  Oversee the development activities on the West Coast as NPower expands

o  Support the development activities on the west coast as NPower expands.

Candidate Requirements

·  Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

·  Self-starter and ability to work autonomously without supervision.

·  Senior fundraising or comparable sales experience, including strong relationship building and interpersonal skills

·  Strong organization and communication skills with excellent attention to detail/follow through

·  Demonstrated ability to build relationships with the senior leaders in major corporations, foundations and high net worth individuals.

·  Ability to work as a team player with virtual linkages

·  Positive, can do attitude and sense of urgency

Preference given to individuals who exhibit

·  Background in the IT field

·  Workforce development experience and/or passion for helping people grow, develop and better their lives and their community

·  Comfort with entrepreneurial situations

·  Experience developing and/or managing a board of senior leaders

Compensation
