RACE 1 – Scott Bacon MP Juvenile 461M

Idle Bye was slow out. Soon after the start Formazza checked off the heels of Barnes Bay. Approaching the first turn Formazza and Hellyeah Flicka bumped, checking Formazza. Approaching the home turn Barnes Bay, Press Play and Vail bumped, checking Barnes Bay, Cosmic Fire and severely checking Press Play. Entering the home straight Formazza checked off the heels of Cosmic Fire. Approaching the winning post Lonesome Night and Hellyeah Flicka bumped. Press Play underwent a post race veterinary examination and it was reported that no apparent injury could be detected. Barnes Bay underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a torn right front shoulder muscle and has been stood down from racing for a period of 7 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms Loretta McShane in relation to the racing matters of Barnes Bay on the home turn. Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Ms McShane stewards could not be fully satisfied that Barnes Bay had turned its head outwards on its own accord and as such accepted the injury of Barnes Bay and took no further action.

Summit was slow out. Soon after the start Tianna, Mental As Ben and mega Daenerys bumped, checking Mental As Ben. On the first turn Proven Cola and Cahilty bumped, severely checking Cahilty and checking Tianna. Entering the home straight Summit and Mental As Ben bumped. Approaching the winning post Mega Daenerys and Hellyeah Razor bumped, soon after Summit checked off the heels of Mental As Ben. Catcher Mr R Walker was reprimanded under GAR 48 in that he was late arriving at the catching pen to catch Summit in this event.

On the first turn Norwest Maggie, Technology and Babushka bumped. Approaching the home turn Zanazz checked off the heels of Bandit’s Revenge, checking Zanazz, Proven Salsa and Purely Inspiring. Lookaway Darcie was declared a late scratching at 6:54pm due to being a non arrival. Lookaway Darcie was subsequently stood down from racing for a period of 28 days pursuant to GAR31(4). Mr M Richardson was fined the sum of $100 pursuant to GAR86(o)for a negligent act in that he failed to present Lookaway Darcie during the prescribed kennelling time. The start of this event was delayed approximately 5 minutes due to a lure malfunction. Star Girl was slow out. Soon after the start Carhana Rocket and Miss Astro bumped. Approaching the first turn Miss Astro and Carhana Rocket bumped. On the first turn Carhana Rocket checked off the heels of Star Girl. Star Girl raced wide in the home straight.

Hellyeah Bolt completed a steward’s satisfactory solo trial as it was stood down from the North West Greyhound Racing Club on the 30th July 2013 pursuant to GAR 74(1) when it suffered a post race seizure. Weighing 34.1 kilos and beginning from box 3, Hellyeah Bolt completed the 461 metre trial distance in a time of 25.84. Hellyeah Bolt has been cleared to race at all tracks. A post trial swab sample was taken from Hellyeah Bolt.
