Scholarship PolicyApplication and Review Process

Full and partial scholarships are available for adults and children for classes, workshops, and seminars. The scholarship funds are reserved for families or individuals who demonstrate both financial need and interest.

(For children) A parent or guardian must submit the following:

* the Scholarship Application Form regarding the need for financial assistance

This information is confidential, and reviewed only by members of the scholarship review committee. Scholarship applications can be submitted any time during the year and remain active for the following 12 months. In that period, a scholarship applicant may request participation in additional classes by submitting a simple written request. However, an active scholarship application does not guarantee that a scholarship will be granted for every class requested. A designated number of scholarships are reserved for each session. All scholarship applications are reevaluated each session, using the acceptance criteria detailed below. Applicants may apply for as many classes as they wish, with the understanding that they may not always receive a scholarship. It is helpful to request a class in terms of first, second and third choice, as your first choice might already be full. Applicants will then be notified of acceptance.

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA:

· Financial need of the family.

· Interest of the child and parent in our classes.

· New applicants who qualify will have priority over returning students.

· Availability of funds per fiscal year.

Full scholarship possible for anyone under 125% of federal poverty (see attached)

Half scholarship for anyone under 200% of federal poverty
