Privacy Statement

Launching the Public hearing – Addressingcybersecurity challenges and supporting a thrivingcybersecurityindustry in the EU

Regulation (EC) 45/2001 applies to the processing of personal data collected for the organisation and management of this conference. Data processing is necessary for the management and functioning of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the European Commission (EC), as provided for in Articles 300-304 and 244-250 respectively of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.

The controllers for this processing operation are:

Ms Birgit Fular (), Head of Unit, Secretariat of the Section for Transport, Energy, Infrastructure and the Information Society, European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).



The datacollected (name, organisation, function, contact and country) will benecessary for the organisation and management of the conference as well as for the launching and functioning of the Platform for Change. For this purpose, the collected personal data will be shared between two controllersand stored on the servers of both the EESC and the EC. Access to all personal data as well as to all information collected in connection with this eventis only granted through UserID/Password to a defined population of users.

In order to keep the network of participants operational, a list of participants (name, organisation and function) will be shared among those attending the conference.

Please note that photographs will be taken and the event will be audio/video recorded. The EESC and EC reserve the right to use this material in their communication products.
