MATH SURVEY AND GRAPHING PROJECT
Due: April 30, 2014
- Come up with a question to use in your survey. Remember, your question should have one numbered answer to it. Make sure there are a wide variety of answers.
- How old are you?
- What is your shoe size?
- How tall are you? (convert to inches by multiplying height by 12)
- What is your address? (# only)
- What date were you born on? (#1-31)
- What is your favorite number?
- Survey 25 - 49 people. Tally the results on the sheet that you previously made containing the response choices. * Use an odd number of people.
- Display your data in the following ways:
- Stem-and-Leaf Plot
- Box –and-Whisker Plot
- Histogram
- In addition to the three displays in number 3, choose two other ways to display your data. (Each additional way will count as extra credit)
- Line Graph
- Line Plot
- Scatter Plot
- Bar Graph
- Circle Graph (Pie Chart with Percents)
- Tally Chart
- Pictograph
- Use a poster board to glue your graphs and charts to for your finished project. Make sure each graph is labeled appropriately.
GRADING CRITERIA
- Graph title—The title is NOT the question.
- Question—Should be at the top of the tally chart and data table.
- Graph—Don't forget the title and any sub labels that are required oncertain graphs, like bar graphs.
- Neatness and organization.
- Turned in on time.
