Heartland Hurricanes “Ghouls in the Pool” Invitational

Facility:

The meet will be held at the Mattoon Area Family YMCA, 221 N.16th St, Mattoon, (217) 234-9494. The facility features a six-lane, 25 yard pool with non-turbulent lane lines.

Spectator seating will be provided on the pool deck. No flash photography may be used prior to and during the start of each race. No food or drink will be allowed in the pool area.

Lunch, Fruit, and snack items will be available at concessions throughout the meet.

Rules:

The meet shall be governed by the current YMCA “Rules that Govern Competitive Sports”, and the USA Swimming Guide. THIS WILL BE A CLOSED Y MEET.

Seeding:

Athletes will be seeded according to submitted times.

Custom Awards:

Top 3 finishes in all individual events will receive custom rosettes. Fourth through Eighth place will receive custom ribbons. Relays will be awarded custom ribbons 1st through 6th place. Team Trophies will be awarded for the top 3 teams. (Host team excluded)

Limits:

Athletes are limited to 4 individual events and 2 relays.

Fees:

Entry fees are $3.00 per individual event and $12.00 per relay. Checks should be made out to “Mattoon Area Family YMCA”. Entries and fees MUST ARRIVE BY OCTOBER 23, 2016.

Entries:

After completing the team entry in the Team Manager program, the exported entry file is sent to s an email attachment.

All entries MUST be submitted in Team Manager Format as email attachments. NO PAPER OR DISK ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Receipt of all entries will be confirmed by reply email. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours of your electronic submission, call Coach Elizabeth at (217) 690-3540.

A check for fees and a signed Meet Summary/Release Form MUST BE RECEIVED BY OCTOBER 23, 2016. Upon timely receipt of checks and release forms, teams will be notified by email of entry acceptance based on the established criteria.

Meet Warm-ups and Start:

Team warm-up times, lane assignments, and meet start time will be sent out closer to meet time. They are dependent upon number of teams and where traveling from. As of now, the tentative start time is 10:00 am.

Seed Times:

Short course yard entry times are the only course time that may be submitted. Conversions are acceptable.

Bullpen/Swimmers Area:

The Bullpen will be in the aerobics room and the swimmers area will be located in the gym. No food or beverages are allowed on the pool deck. Fitness areas are off limits to all swimmers and spectators. Swimmers found breaking these rules may be subject to Disqualification.

Updating Times:

Teams accepted into the meet may update entry times for their athletes as often as they want up to the entry deadline. Each update is treated as an original entry submission so it must contain the complete team entry. Updates are to be submitted in the same manner as original entries.

Officials:

Each team will be asked to supply timers based on the number of entries. Certified officials are also needed.

Heat Sheets:

Heat Sheets will be available at the meet for $2.00.

Meet Results:

All teams will receive a copy of the total meet results by email.

Deck Entries:

Deck entries will be allowed only to fill heats and at the discretion of the host team. The fees are $4.00 per individual event and $16.00 per relay.
