Philadelphia Attorney Rhonda Hill WilsonAppointed to Philadelphia Regional Port Authority Board
(Philadelphia Personal Injury Attorney Supports Port Authority)
PHILADELPHIA (December 2009) – Rhonda Hill Wilson, Philadelphia personal injury and nursing home negligence attorney, was recently appointed to serve on the governing board of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA). The 11-member board of regional business leaders is appointed by the Governor, the state legislature, the Mayor of Philadelphia, and the large counties surrounding the Port.
An independent agency of Pennsylvania,PRPA focuses onthe enhancement of water-borne trade and commerce. As a board member, Hill Wilson will support the organization’s commitment to economic development and job creation. PRPA works to generate activity that will maximize port-related employment and revenues by promoting the use of the Philadelphia regional port system by Pennsylvania-based industries.
Hill Wilson said, “Philadelphia has served as a leader in international commerce for more than 300 years. It is quite an honor to participate and support our local seaport which generates thousands of jobs in the region.” She said, “As a business leader and Philadelphia native, it is important to me to contribute to the sustainability of our ports.”
Hill Wilson is pleased to support Philadelphia and its international seaport. Under the auspices of PRPA, the Port of Philadelphia was named the nation’s 14th Strategic Military Port by the U.S. Department of Defense in 2002, making it one of only 14 ports in the United States permitted to handle the nation’s military cargoes destined for various points around the globe.
In addition to serving on the PRPA board, Hill Wilson was recently named one of Main Line Today’s Women on Move for her local business success and philanthropic efforts. She serves as a role-model and gives back to her community. Hill Wilson teaches young, inner-city women life skills and goal setting strategies and chairs the United Negro College Fund Philadelphia-area "A Mind Is" Annual Giving Society. From 2003 through March of 2007, Hill Wilson hosted “Truth Rising” which was heard on WURD 900-AM where she discussed local, national and international legal and political issues. In March 2007, Hill Wilson became the co-host of "The Morning Team" on WURD and now substitutes as co-host when needed.
