Learning about the history of America will be the focus of this lesson. The use of music, technology, and history will be incorporated into this unit.

While completing this project, students will:
·  Examine various Patriotic Melodies from the I Hear America Singing Collection.
·  Students will choose a melody to study.
·  Students will learn about the history of the song including when it was written and who composed it
·  Students will record their research.
·  After researching the song students will create a PowerPoint presentation incorporating the history and lyrics of the song based on their research
·  Students will use graphics, songs, and artifacts from the Library of Congress Website
·  A presentation of the completed PowerPoints will be delivered on the final day of class
