*** The Plant Closings/Mass Layoffs Report is a summary of the activities on which the State Rapid Response Team (SRRT) started working in that month. The reports are run at the beginning of the month for the previous month’s activities.
** The Layoff Start is our best guess based on information obtained from the employer, media or individual workers who have contacted the state.
* The number of Affected Workers is our best guess based on information we obtained from the employer, media or individual workers. It may not reflect the actual number of affected workers from a given dislocation event.
Layoff Status: Please refer to terms below for further clarification of Layoff Status:
- Needs Assessment: The SRRT has become aware of the possibility of a layoff or closing and is working to uncover more details(i.e., size, timing, location(s), and point of contact).
- Aversion/Retention: Company sought out opportunities to be proactive and avert or minimize layoffs and retain employees.
- Existing Project: There is a current Dislocated Worker (DW) grant in place for a specific company. That company has another wave of layoffs and we decided to bundle that new round of layoffs into the existing DW grant.
- New Project: A company-specific grant set up to help workers affected by mass layoffs or closings, typically affecting 50 or more workers.
- Small LayoffServices:Workers interested in enrolling in DW can go to any of the state’s Workforce Centers or independent service providers. .
- Suspend/Hold: The layoff/closure is on hold or has been suspended.
