/ Grains Industry Undergraduate Honours Scholarship Final Report Guidelines

The GRDC provides support for Grains Industry Undergraduate Honours Scholarships (GRS) and to encourage post graduate training in disciplines that contribute to the research, development and extension priorities of the GRDC and the Australian grains industry.

Scholarships are available for one year and are awarded on the basis of academic excellence, the topic of the proposed research program and the likelihood of the applicant’s ongoing involvement in the grains industry.

  • Final Report

Within three months of the scholarship completion date, the recipient’s supervisor must complete and submit a Final Report which is available from the GRDC website.

Once completed, an electronic copy of the (Microsoft Word) report should be emailed to . The name of the emailed documents should incorporate the project number.

In addition a paper copy should be sent to:

• Research Thesis
An electronic copy of the recipient’s final submitted research thesis must also be provided to the GRDC. This should be done:
(a) within 3 months after the end of the scholarship period; or
(b) within 30 days of the final research thesis being made publicly available.
A one page plain english summary of the thesis must also be provided to the GRDC at the time of providing the final research thesis.
The electronic copy of the thesis and the one page plain english summary can either be emailed or provided on CD Rom. Copies should be addressed to:

UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC REPORT
Scholarship recipients must attach to the Report any relevant academic progress reports in accordance with the research organisation’s normal procedures. Those reports will describe the recipient’s carrying out of the educational research and will contain comments by the supervisor on the recipient’s progress and achievements, and whether the recipient is fulfilling the requirements of the postgraduate course in which he or she is enrolled. If your research organisation does not undertake annual reports please include a report from your supervisor.

CERTIFICATION
Reports to the GRDC should be made by the organisation conducting the research and coordinated through their central administrative area. For example, tertiary education institution reports should be processed through the Registrar or Bursar’s office. Ensure the Certification details are complete before the form is submitted electronically.
The electronic copy received by GRDC will be the copy that is evaluated.
Ensure that one hardcopy of the electronically submitted form is signed by the Project Supervisor and a duly delegated representative from the research organisation.
