MUN Country Research Project
Instructions: All students will complete and present a country research project based on their selected country of representation.
- First Requirement – country selections:
- Your first assignment is to visit the following website to select three countries which interest you in the order of your preference:
- UN website
- Submit your selection request for approval. Your selection is subject to approval inorder to prevent a duplication of countries being represented by other students, so it is first come, first served.
- When you have received your approval for your selection/choice, you will then need to prepare a portfolio on your approved country of choice.
- Second Requirement – Report portfolio:
- A report cover – include the Country, a graphic image of your country’s flag and your name.
- A hand drawn map of the country with key areas of human habitat and industrial developments identified.
- A typed report, using the attached country research form, with completed information.
- A separate paper identifying a list of key issues affecting the country.
- A typed sheet identifying the ambassador to the United States and the United Nations, websites and embassy location, along with a copy of the website information.
- A biographical sketch (outline) of an influential individual from your country. The biographical sketch will include the following:
- Biography – brief synopsis of individual’s life
- Domestic policy – policies pursued as an influential figure, include accomplishments and effectiveness.
- Foreign policy – policies pursued, include accomplishments and effectiveness
- Sources – you must reference and cite a minimum of 3 sources
- A completed Country research fact sheet
- Third Requirement – Power Point
- You are to create a Power Point presentation of your country research:
- Minimum of 12 slides and a maximum of 15 slides pertaining to the country research
- Title slide – your name
- Each slide must have a photograph or illustration and text. Photograph must be clear.
- Background color must be appropriate and does not conflict with the text color; image may be used for background
- Text for each slide must be short and to the point, bullet comment
- Slides must have custom animation and/or sound appropriate to the slide topic
- Bibliography of outside sources must be included on a separate slide
- One student information handout based on the Power Point will be included
- A printed copy of your Power Point, the student handout and a file copy of the PPT presentation must be turned in.
