Unmanned Robotic Drones in Agriculture

Utilization of Robotics Equipments in Various Agricultural Purpose Using Modern Day Technology

Agriculture is one of the major sector in economy of a country.Well in india the amount of technology used in various fields is very low compared to the technology of the modern world and hence using modern day cutting edge technology from automated drones to a self thinking integrated robotics in agriculture from analysing to task processing capability will help in drastic development in agro market.

So basically what we are and will be trying to do is to apply as many technologies as possible in the field of agriculture by using modern technologies and robotics mechanism to develop solution for most of the solvable problems and someday in near future when technology will be having a higher impact on agriculture,we will be upgrading up to the latest ones.

Unmanned Vehicles:

An unmanned vehicle is a vehicle without a person on board. Uncrewed vehicles can either be remote controlled or remote guided vehicles, or they can be autonomous vehicles which are capable of sensing their environment and navigating on their own.

Types:

●Unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), such as the autonomous car

●Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), unmanned aircraft commonly known as a "drones"

●Unmanned surface vehicle (USV), for the operation on the surface of the water

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV):

APM based multirotors

This is the full-featured multicopter UAV controller(dominating with the top five spots). A team of developers from around the globe are constantly improving and refining the performance and capabilities of Copter .

Copter is capable of the full range of flight requirements from fast paced FPV racing to smooth aerial photography to fully autonomous complex missions which can be programmed through one of 4 elegant and well-developed software ground stations. The entire package is designed to be safe, feature rich, open-ended for custom applications and increasingly easy to use even for novice users.

Completely easy interfaced mission planner application which is used to complete various mission by just setting the path and the task of the vehicle with the use of the integrated software tool.

Some Example:

Drone scanning a plot of area and hence analysis is done and giving a report to the farmer about the level of fertilization required in each part of the plot depending on the healthy ness and colour of the crops scanned which depends upon various types of data provided for it to process it.

Some of the below images are the drones which are used in spraying pesticides and other chemicals required for the good health of the crop:

Imagine a farm. Somewhere, the soil is too wet or too dry. Somewhere, a fungus or other pathogen is starting to take hold. Somewhere, the crop needs fertilizer or insecticide. It’s difficult to say where without walking every square foot of the farm. And even if you did take that walk, you’d need x-ray vision to tell you exactly which healthy-looking plant is about to get sick and turn yellow.

what drones can do for farms. They fly over fields, collecting data that goes far beyond what the human eye can see, such as tiny differences in temperature indicating plant stress.

The path for these drones are automatically set as the plot area is marked and hence when it is in air,its autopilot kicks in following the path and the command sent by the ground station,ie. user and collects the raw data and that can be processed to various reports like the health of the crop and the amount of water the crops are getting in each part of the farm and all the required data which a farmer has to get by walking the whole field and observe all the crops.

Some Applications in Agriculture where it can be used:

●Arecanut fertilisation from top of the tree.

●Drone used in planting seeds according to the perfect pattern.

●Drones can be used in Fertilising the whole fields depending on the amount of fertilizer needed for each crop

There are many ways in which we can combine the drone technology with the agriculture sectors which dramatically increases the health and productivity of the yields.

Unmanned ground vehicle (UGV):

Unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) is a vehicle that operates while in contact with the ground and without an onboard human presence. UGVs can be used for many applications where it may be inconvenient, dangerous, or impossible to have a human operator present. Generally, the vehicle will have a set of sensors to observe the environment, and will either autonomously make decisions about its behavior or pass the information to a human operator at a different location who will control the vehicle through teleoperation.

Some Application:

●A unmanned remote controlled robot can be used in planting, harvesting and processing rice, which works using various sensors like GPS,GYRO and moves around the plot doing it tasks with just a little monitoring works done by the user with the help of a android or a windows tablet from their home.

Robots made in china for farming, one small robot does the job for a large feild

●Now in case of arecanut,a robot which climbs the trees faster and rips of the arecanuts when it is completely grown.

Robots used in various tasks

●A arecanut processing machine which avoids the process of drying it in sun for 30 days and does the jobs faster in a enclosed system with the help of artificial sunlight without affecting the size and properties of it.
