Post Title: -Outreach Behaviour Support Worker

(22.5 hours) per week - Term Time only

Salary Grade:- Hay grade 4

Base:KS3

Responsible to: - Headteacher

Purpose of the job:-

To work in mainstream settings to support high quality teaching and learning of pupils and be part of The Park ESC team.

Standards: -

All staff work within the conditions of employment set out in the Centre’sPay and Conditions Document and the Performance Management Policy. The duties listed below are not, therefore, an exhaustive list of what is required.

  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils

  • Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
  • Improve the behaviour of referred pupils to provide a positive and safe learning environment
  • Contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching and learning activities
  • Observe and report on pupil performance
  • Prepare and maintain the learning environment
  • Fulfil wider professional responsibilities

Personal and professional conduct

All members of staff are expected to demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct. The following statements define the behaviour and attitudes which set the required standard for conduct.

  • Staff uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside school, by:
  • treating pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a professional position

Duties and Responsibilities:-

  • Provide administrative support and provide data, information and evaluation as required by the Head and SLT
  • To support pupils with challenging behaviour by working in mainstream schools delivering agreed and appropriate programmes of support
  • Carry out observations on referred pupils, writing reports and debriefing with Outreach Manager
  • Work as part of a team to develop and resource new programmes and activities
  • Work alongside school based teaching staff to support pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Attend meetings with schools, parents, agencies etc as directed by Outreach Manager
  • Contribute to the day to day organisation of The Park ESC
  • Maintain personal database and progression and evaluation records
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection: and report all concerns to an appropriate person
  • Undertake particular duties as the Headteacher may reasonably direct from time to time.

Support for pupils’ learning:-

  • Provide support and strategies to enable pupils to effectively access the mainstream curriculum
  • Ensure planning takes into consideration the needs of all pupils
  • Supervise and provide individual support for pupils with identified special educational needs
  • Use ICT for learning activities and support pupils to develop competencies and independence in the use of ICT
  • Be aware of and support difference to ensure that pupils have equality of access to opportunities to learn and develop.
