The 4x1 HDMI SwitchercanexpandHDMI®inputofyourHDMI®displaydeviceupto4HDMI inputs.TheSwitcherofferssinglecableconnectionsolutionto TV;insteadofconnecting4HDMI cablestoyourHDTV.YouwillfindthisisausefulapplicationwhenyoutrytohangaTVona wall.

TheARCfunctionprovidesmoreconvenientA/Vapplication.ItenablesaTVtosendoutaudio datathroughasingleHDMIcabletoanamplifier;whichcanreducetheusers’inconvenienceinstead ofconnectinganadditionalcabletoamplifier.

ThefeatureisdesignedtoaSPDIFdigitalaudiooutput(CoaxialOptical)souserscaneasily sharethedigitalaudioofthe4sourcedevicesbyconnectingonecoaxialoropticalaudiocabletoan audiosystem,whichdoesnotsupportHDMIconnection.Moreover,thenewaddedfeatureof supporting3Dvideoformatalsohelpsyouenjoythetrue3Dcontentmoreeasily.

The 4x1 HDMI SwitchercansupportHDMIARC,3D,andCECfunctions;andcompliantwithyourARC,3D, andCECenabledevices.YoucanenjoytheconvenienceofARC,3D,andCECfeatureswithoutthe interruptionfromswitchbox.

Connection

CONNECTION & OPERATION

Step1:ConnecttheHDMIcablesfromtheHDsourcesdevicestotheinputportsoftheSwitcher. Step2:ConnecttheHDMIcablefromyourHDTV(orprojector)totheoutputportoftheSwitcher. Step3:ConnecttheDC5V/2ApoweradaptortotheHDMISwitcher.

Step4:Afteryoufinishtheconnection,thepowerindicationLED(red),ARCindicationLED(blue), andport1inputindicationLED(green)willbelightedon.

Step5:InitiatetheCECcommunication:

(1)TurnontheconnectedTV,Switchbox,andallconnectedsourcedevices.

(2)Selectthesourcedevicesonebyone,andmakesureallsourcedevicesareworkingcorrectly. (AudioandvideocorrectlyshowonTVwithnointerruptionornoise.)

(3)Followtheoperationalinstructionbelow,andtryalltheoperationfunctionincludeCECcontrol function(RoutingChange,OneTouchplay,Standby.)

(4)If anyfunctioncannotwork,pleaserestarttheswitcherandperformStep5again.

Note:

1. Initiate the CEC communication can make sure the switcher collect the correct EDID informationfromsourcedeviceanddisplaydevice.IncorrectEDIDinformation maycause failureofCECfunction. (DuetovarieddesignofCECdevice, someCECdevices will automaticallyinitiatetheCECcommunicationwiththeswitcher.)

2. Thefollowingconditionsarerecommendedtoinitiateorre-initiatetheCECcommunication:

 WhenyoufirstusetheHDMISwitcherwithyourCECenableddevice.

 WhenyoudisconnectorchangethecableconnectionroutingoftheconnectedHDMI

sourcedevices.

 WhenyouconnecttheoutputofswitchboxtoanotherTVset. PleasecheckStep5intheconnectioninstruction.

3. TheCECisworkingunderstandbymodeforallconnectedCECsupporteddevicesonly.

PleasemakesurethepowerofallCECsupporteddevicesarepluggedinandunderstandby mode.

4. TheCECfeatureonlyworkswithCECsupporteddevices.

5. Consumer Electronics Control(CEC)isalsoknownasinfollowingtermsbytheirrespective BrandName.Philips(EasyLink), Sony(BRAVIATheatreSync),Samsung(Anynet+), LG (Simplink), Sharp (Aquos Link), Panasonic (HDAVI Control, EZ-Sync, and VIERA Link), Pioneer(KuroLink),Toshiba(CE-LinkandRegzaLink),Onkyo(RIHD,RemoteInteractive overHDMI),Mitsubishi(NetCommand).EachbrandmayhaveitsextendCECfeatures.

6. Understandby mode,theHDMIswitcherwillmemorizethelatestinputport.Atyournextuse, theHDMIswitcherwilldetectandconnectthelatestinputportfirst.

7. Toresettheswitcher,pleaseunplugthepoweradaptor,orunplugthepowercordfromDCjack forashortwhile;andthenplugitback.

ARC Operation

TheARCfunctionprovidesmoreconvenientA/Vapplication.ItenablesaTVtosendaudio datathroughasingleHDMIcabletoanamplifier;whichcanreduceusers’inconvenienceof thatconnectingadditionalcabletoamplifier.

ARCoperationandfunctionverification:

Step1:LocatetheHDMI-ARCportfromtheTV.(TheHDMIportwillbemarkedwithARC) Step2:Connectallsourcedevices,amplifier,andTVtoThe 4x1 HDMI Switcher.(see

“CONNECTIONILLUSTRATION”above).

Note:It isrecommendedtouseaHighSpeedHDMI®CableswithEthernetforTVto

Switcherconnectionforbetteraudioreturnchannel(ARC)application. Step3:TurnonTV,amplifier,switcher,andsourcedevices.

Step4:WhenwatchTVfrombuilt-intuner(OTA,CATV,orsatellite),MediaPlayerorIPTV,the ARCindicationlight(blue)inthefrontof theswitcherwillbeon.Andthesoundwillbe deliveredbybothTVspeakerandstereosystem.(ItisrecommendedtoturnofftheTV volumetoavoiddoublesound.)

Step5:Whenselectoneofthesourcedevices(ex.BDPlayer)fromMD-415ARC,theARC

functionandtheindicationlight(blue)willbeoffautomatically.

Step6:Switchfromsourcesdeviceto TVbroadcastingmodeagain(satellite,CATV, OTA…etc.),inordertomakesuretheARCfunctionisactive.ARCisapplicableunder TVbroadcastingmodeonly.

EnableanddisabletheARCfunctionoftheswitcher:

1.Usethe“ARC”buttonontheremotecontrollertoenableordisabletheARCfunction.

2.Usethe“ARC”buttonontheswitchertoenableordisabletheARCfunction

3.TheARCindication lightislocatedatfrontpaneloftheswitcher.WhenARCfunctionison, thelightwillshow“blue”light;inthecontrary,whenARCfunctionisoff,thelightwillbeoff.

WhenARCfunctionison,pleaseturnofftheaudiovolumeofTV,inordertoavoidrepeat soundfromTVandamplifier. (Whenyoupress“Mute”fortheTV,someTVswillshowanicon onthescreen;toavoidthissituation,werecommendturningdownthevolumeto“0”)

WhenswitchinginputsourcetoTVchannel,theARCfunctionwillautomaticturnon.Inthe contrary,whenswitching fromTVchanneltoinputsource,theswitcherwillautomaticturnoff theARCfunction.

WhenusetheTVbuild-inmediaplayertoplayvideos,theARCwillbefunctionalaswell. WhentheARCfunctionis on,theaudiosignalwillautomaticallysendbackto theamplifier.For example, iftheoriginalvideoisDolbyDigitalformat,andyourTVcansupportDolbyDigital format;withtheARCfunction,youcanenjoytheDolbyDigitalsoundeffectfromyouramplifier.

PleaseconnectswitchertoHDMIARCportontheTV,sothatARCfunctioncanperform functionally.

IR Remote Operation

UsethepowerkeyontheIRremotetopowerontheHDMI switcher.ThepowerindicationLEDonthefrontpanelwillbe lightedon.

Pressthepowerkeyonemoretimetoturntheswitchertostandby.

Usenumberbuttonstoselecttheinputsources.

Usethe“ARC”buttonontheremotecontrollertoenableordisable theARCfunctionoftheswitcher.

Main Unit Operation

Power/SelectKey:

- The“Select/Power”keyisamulti-functionkey.

- Power Control:Press the “Select/Power”key for 2 secondsto turn off the power

(Standby);pressthe“Select/Power”keyoncetoturnontheswitcher.

- SourceSelection:Ifyouwanttochangetheinputchannelmanually,youcanpressthe

“Select/Power”keyonce.ALEDwillbelightedupforthechannelindication.

ARCModeKey:

- Pressthe“ARCMode”keytoswitchon/offtheARCfunction.

ResetButton:

- RESETbuttonislocatedatbacksideoftheswitcher.

- PressRESETbuttontoresettheHDMISwitchertotheinitialstatus.

Theprocedureisacyclicfunction:

- Whenyouselectedthechannel,therewillbeaLEDontopresentthechannel.Ifyou selectchannel1,theCH1LEDwilllighton.

Specified Mode Operation

IfsourcedevicesdonotsupportthefunctionofAutoDetectionAutoAdjustment, pleasesettheoutputaudiosignalofthesourcedevicefirst,andmakesurethesettingcan besupportedbythesinkdevices.Forexample,ifusersetthesourcetosendoutaDTS

5.1CH(orDolby5.1CH)signal,butthesinkdevicecanonlysupportupto2CH,youwillnot havesoundoutputformthesinkdevice.

Ifsourcedevicessupportthe functionofAutoDetectionAutoAdjustment,thesource device willautoadjusttheoutputaudiosignaltotheoptimalstandard basedonthefollowing differentmodes.Userscanalsosettheaudiooutputsignalbythemselves.Pleasemakesure thesettingcanbesupportedbythesinkdevices.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

1. Whenthereisnopicturepresented,please:

MakesurethedirectconnectionfromthesourcedevicetothedisplaydevicewithouttheHDMI Switcheris working.

Checkifallconnectorsareconnectedwell;andcheckifallcablescansupportthetransmission speed.HighSpeedHDMIcablesarerecommended.

CheckthepowerofHDMISwitcher(orresettheswitcher)

2. Whenthereisonlypicturedisplayedandwithoutsound:

Checkthecableconnectiontoseeifitfitsproperly.

Checkyourcabletoseeifitsupportsvideotransmissiononly(DVI)oritisdamaged.

HDCPmaynotmatchverywellatfirstconnection;pleaseresetyourHDMIswitcher.

Do youconnectanyoutputtoyourvideorecorder?HDCPwilllockupaudiopart.

3. Whenresolutioncouldnotshowin1080p.

Makesureyoursourcesanddisplaysarefullysupporting1080p.

MakesureyourHDMIcablesarecapableoftransmit1080Pvideosignal.

4. WhenAudioReturnChannel(ARC)functionisnotworkingproperly:

PleasecheckifyourdeviceshaveARC-enabledHDMIports.Theletters"ARC"maybeeasily foundontheHDMIportsoftheARC-workabledevices.If not,pleasecheckwithyour manufacturertodeterminewhichHDMIportwillsupportARCfunction.

PleasemakesuretheblueARCLEDlightison. If not,youcanusetheremotecontroltoturnon theARCfunctionorunplugthepowercordtorestarttheswitcher.

Pleasesettheaudiooutputformatofsourcedeviceto“bitstream,”inordertoperformDolby

Digital,DTS…etc.audioformatfunctionally.

UseHighSpeedHDMI®CableswithEthernetforTVtoSwitcherconnection.

If yourdevicessupportDTS®HD,Dolby®TrueHDdigitalaudioformat,pleaseusean HDMI

connectionwithHDMI-enabledamplifiertoplaythesedigitalaudioformatsfunctionally.

5. WhenCECfunctionisnotworkingproperly.

TheHDMICECsupporteddevicewhichisconnectedtotheHDMICECsystemislimitedbythe devicetypeandthelimitednumberofaddress.Thedevicetypesandthequantityofeachdevice typecanbesupportedbyaHDMICECSystemareTV(1),RecordingDevice(1~3),Tuner(1~4), PlaybackDevice(1~3),andAudioSystem(1).

ThenumberofeachtypeofdeviceswhichareconnectedtoaCECSystemcannotexcessthe limitationofeachdevicetypeto avoidincorrectCECbehavior.Forexample,donotconnect morethan3PlaybackDevices(DVDplayer,BDplayer,Gameplayer)toaCECSystem. (ThislimitationisforCECsupporteddevicesonly.)

PleasecheckiftheconnectedsourceanddisplaydevicessupportHDMICECfunction.

PleasemakesuretheCECfunctionofconnectedsourceanddisplaydevicesisenabled.

Re-initiatetheCECcommunicationbyfollowingStep5oftheconnectioninstructiononpage3.

TheCECfunctionsmaynottotallyworkunderdifferentbranddevice.Becauseeachbrandmay havetheirownspecialcontrolfeatures.It is suggestedtochoosesamebranddevices,inorder tosupportfullCECfeaturesofeachbrand’sCECcontrol.

6. When3Dcontentcouldnotbeshownon yourdisplay.

Pleasemakesureyoursourcesanddisplayare3Dsupporteddevicesandalsosupportthe same3Dformat.

PleasecheckiftheBlue-rayplayerhasbeenset3DorAUTOplay-modeforvideooutput.

Pleasemakesurethevideocontentis3Dcontent.
