About PLATO and Credit Recovery:

  • Credit Recovery is a web-based course, aligned with the State of Georgia’s curriculum and standards, designed to enable students to regain credit that was lost as a result of a failing grade.
  • The instructors will monitor progress in the computer-based component of instruction as well as provide an additional tutoring or assistance the student may need. Our role is to assist you in getting back on track to graduate.
  • Overview:
  • Students will receive grades over each unit of the course. Apassing grade of a 70% is required on Quizzes and Tests in order to move on to the next unit.
  • Students will begin each unit by taking a diagnostic “Pre-test,” which will then place them at the necessary place in the unit that the student needs to begin their subject. You may exempt units depending on how well you do on the pre-test.
  • Students will then read/listen to the instruction for each lesson and answer a series of questions to see what they’ve learned.
  • Tests and Quizzes:
  • Students will be allowed to use their notes on all quizzes and tests. Any type of QUIZ and/or TEST MUST BE TAKEN IN THE CLASSROOM (daily lessons may be completed inside or outside the classroom).
  • Scoring:
  • The assignments will be graded in an online gradebook and the student will receive credit for the course upon completion of End of Course tests with a grade 70% or higher.
  • Other Issues:
  • There can only be one PLATO tab open while running PLATO.
  • Academic dishonesty (cheating, copying answers, etc.) will not be tolerated.
