Stage 3 – Learning Plan
DIFFERENTIATION (I-3) There are several ways to individualize instruction for your students
How will I scaffold and/or accelerate learning? For whom? How will I group my students?
SCAFFOLD: Students with modifications will receive additional time on assignments as well as fewer answer choices and/or shortened written assignments as necessary.
ACCELERATE: Students without modifications/accommodations will be expected to complete all assignments on time and with in-depth answers to open ended response questions.
GROUP: (pre-teaching or re-teaching) peer review/revising and editing of introductory paragraphs
Learning Activities: Students will practice and perfect revising and editing skills through daily warm-ups, daily lessons, and weekly/bi-weekly quizzes. Students will learn how to draft a well-written argumentative introductory paragraph and thesis statement. Students will continue working on Achieve 3000, the Internet-based literacy program. Students will receive weekly reading support scaffolded to meet the individual learning needs of each student.
