WIT User Group Draft Scope Statement

Purpose and Responsibilities

The purpose of the WIT User Group is to facilitate the WIT users in the discussion of issues and changes related to the Western Interchange Tool (WIT).

The WIT User Group may:

  1. Recommend changes to existing functionality in WIT
  2. Recommend additions to WIT functionality including any changes necessary due to NERC standards or WECC criterion
  3. Assist the WIT vendor and Peak Reliability with implementation and testing of new functionality in WIT
  4. Assist with the training of the WIT users for any changes in WIT that may require training
  5. Address any issues related to WIT tool failure or implementation of the backup emergency plan.

Committee Composition and Governance

1.  Representation

The WIT User Group shall be comprised of a representative from each Balancing Authority in the Western Interconnection that is a user of WIT. The representative shall not be from the marketing function of the Balancing Authority.

2.  Leadership

  1. The WIT User Group representatives may elect one representative as the Chair.
  2. The Chair may appoint a Vice chair and a Secretary.
  3. The chair shall manage the user group and its meetings.
  4. The vice chair shall perform the duties of the chair in the chair’s absence or in the event of a vacancy in the office of chair.
  5. The secretary shall take notes of the user group meetings.

3.  Meetings

  1. The WIT User Group may meet in person or via conference call as decided upon by the representatives.
  2. The meetings will be limited to the representatives of the WIT User Group.
  3. Notice of WIT Users Group meetings will be posted on Peak’s website and will include any relevant materials to the extent that the materials are available. Peak will endeavor to post the time and place of in-person meetings at least 21 days prior to each meeting and to post the agenda and meeting materials at least three business days prior to each meeting.”
