GOLDEN KEY HONOUR SOCIETY MEETING. 3/1/10. 5:30-6:40 PM
Topics: New Officer Introductions, Bake Sale, Honorary Members Appreciation Day, GTA/GRA, Scholarship awards, Regional Summit Review, End of the year Social
Minutes: 70 minutes
ATTENDANCE: Anna Binder, Caroline Meyer, Katie Hildebrand, Elias Logan, Nicole Simonson, Donita Whitney-Bammerlin, Martin Tidd, Shen Shen.
Meeting Events:
1. President Anna Binder called meeting to order and new officer introductions were made. Shen Shen will be fulfilling the position of fundraising chair and Veronica Taylor will be the new treasurer.
2. The officers then announced any updates:
a. Service chair representative Eli Logan provided an update on the Douglass Center tutoring and announced that some of the time slots have been filled.
b. Fundraising chair representative Shen Shen announced that the Bake Sale will be taking place Saturday April 10th, 2010 from 11:00-5:00 pm outside of Walmart. It was noted that for this fundraising event the following supplies will be required: posters with prices, a card table, cash box and chairs. A sign up sheet will be provided for members to sign up for the event.
3. Kansas State Chapter of Golden Key Scholarships were discussed: Officer members discussed ways for scholarships to be awarded to members. The officers came to the decision that scholarships will be awarded based upon a points system. Points will be awarded to members based upon their chapter participation. The points will be kept track of by the secretary Caroline Meyer
4. It was noted that the Kansas State Chapter of Golden Key will be holding an Honorary Member Appreciation Day. The tentative date for this event will be April 20th, 2010, and will be headed by Vice-president Aaron Friess. It was noted that for this day members will deliver an appreciation note and a small gift to each Honorary member on the Kansas State Campus.
5. President Anna Binder discussed the Regional Summit, which took place on February 27th and 28th. Possible fundraising ideas were mentioned such as, In2books (which will not take place until the Fall of 2010), Cartridge World Fund Raiser/Service Project and Hy-Vee Receipts.
6. A possible end of the year social was discussed. This event will take place sometime in late April early May (possibly the week before finals). This event will invite current Golden Key members, honorary members as well as prospective Golden Key members. It was noted that this event could possibly take place at the City Park. Food will either be provided by Hy-Vee or Dillions or possibly Pot Luck.
7. President Anna Binder made her closing statements and thanked all officers for attending the meeting.
