Availability & Booking: The films listed in this menu are available at present unless the date ofavailability is otherwise stated next to the title. Please complete the online booking form giving as wide a range of dates as possible.If you are unable to complete the form online email who will advise an alternative method. It may be necessary to contact you if there is a need to juggle dates if you are loaning our screening equipment. Bookings where loan of equipment is required will be considered on a first come first served basis so please bear this in mind when you are submitting your requests. The sooner you get your bookings in the better!Please keep a copy of your requests for your own reference. We will confirm your bookings as soon as we can. It is essential you note on the form the time you wish to screen the film and the ticket prices you plan to charge and your venue’s postcode.

We hope this menu offers titles you and your audiences will enjoy. If there is a particular film that isn’t listed here, then go to Filmbank’s website: check its availability. If you find another distributor who will provide a commercial licence, then let us know and we will see if we can make the booking.You can send comments and requests by email.

Cost of films: The charge for this season is £100+VAT for each film screening unless otherwisestated. This fee is payable after the screening and your box office takings should more than cover this. If you would like advice on ticket pricing, please let us know or refer to and view current screenings for guidance. Note, if you ask us to book through another distributor this amount may vary – we will not book a film with another distributor without discussing the cost with you first if it is more expensive. With our normal distributor, Filmbank if your box office takings exceeds £200, we collect 35p in the £ above and pay it to Filmbank to comply with their charges.

Audience numbers and box office takings: We have to collect audience and box office informationimmediately after the screening. It is essential you supply this information in order for us to pass it to the licence provider in order to comply with our contractual obligation and agreement in obtaining a commercial licence on your behalf. You will be asked to complete a return form immediately after your screening which includes a section on audience and promoter feedback, which we would be grateful if you could complete to ensure that we offer you and your audiences the best service and identify any areas for improvement. Anecdotal evidence about the success of your film events is also highly valuable to the project. This form must be submitted by email no later than 48 hours after your screening to.Failure to meet the deadline may lead to our FILMBANK account being suspended, which impacts on screenings across the whole network.

Publicity: We will produce a leaflet containing a map with all of the venues across each region and a link to our website where all the screenings will be listed. The leaflet will be distributed to all venues on the network and through Tourist Information Centre offices, libraries and other important outlets in the region. We will advertise all screenings on the project’s dedicated website: and do check it for all the latest information and updates. If you haven’t already, please sign up to our newsletter via the website’s homepage (bottom left!) to ensure you are kept up to date with the latest screening, training and funding opportunities available to venues on the network. We also recommend you also create a profile page for you cinema to help publicise your screenings at

Soon after leaving her fiancé Michelle is involved in a car accident. She awakens to find herself sharing an underground bunker with Howard and Emmett. Has she been saved from an apocalyptical event as Howard & Emmett tell her or are there other motives for her being held against her will?

2.A Bigger Splash(UK, France, Italy 2016) Cert 15, 120 mins, genre: drama

In A BIGGER SPLASH, the lives of a high profile couple, a famous rock star (Tilda Swinton) and a filmmaker (Matthias Schoenaerts), vacationing and recovering on the idyllic sun-drenched and remote Italian island of Pantelleria, are disrupted by the unexpected visit of an old friend (Ralph Fiennes) and his daughter (Dakota Johnson) - creating a whirlwind of jealousy, passion and, ultimately, danger for everyone involved.

3.A Hologram for the King (UK, France, Germany, USA, Mexico 2016) Cert 12A, 120 mins, genre: comedy, drama

Director: Tom Tykwer, Cast: Tom Hanks, Alexander Black, Sarita Choudhury

He lost his job, his wife left him and he cannot pay his daughter’s tuition fees. Alan Clay (54) sets his hopes in the “King Abdullah Economic City”, a shiny, modern metropolis in the Arabian desert. He tries to sell an American IT company’s teleconferencing system to the king. But when Alan arrives for the deal, the king lost his interest in the project, and does not show up. Alan befriends Yousef, a young driver, with whom he gets to know the country and all the contradictions between modern and traditional spirits. On a hospital visit Alan meets Zahra. He ignores Yousef‘s warning, not to get involved with her. In the end, the project does not concern Alan anymore. He is not disappointed, that it failed, because he found happiness. With Zahra, a new professional calling and a new home.

Michael Stone, an author that specializes in customer service, is a man who is unable to interact deeply with other people. But, when he went on a business trip, he met a stranger - an extraordinary stranger, which slowly became a cure for his negative view on life that possibly will change his mundane life

5.The Big Short (USA 2015) Cert 15, 130 mins, genre: drama

Director: Adam McKay, Cast: Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt

Based on the book by Michael Lewis (writer of Moneyball, Liar's Poker and Flash Boys, among others), the true story of a handful of investors who bet against the US mortgage market in 2006-7. Through their own research they discovered that the US mortgage backed securities market was a bubble about to burst, and they invested accordingly. What they didn't initially know was how structurally flawed the MBS system was, the level of corruption in the market...and the impact on the average person when the bubble burst.

6.Bridge of Spies (USA 2015) Cert 12A, 141 mins, genre: drama

Director: Steven Spielberg, Cast: Tom Hanks, Mark Rylance, Alan Alda

In the cold war, a lawyer, James B. Donovan is recruited by the CIA and involved in an intense negotiation mission to release and exchange a CIA U-2 spy-plane pilot, Francis G. Powers. The pilot was arrested alive after his plane was shot down by the Soviet Union during a mission and stays in the company of a KGB intelligence officer, Rudolf Abel, who was arrested for espionage in the US.

7.Carol (USA 2015) Cert 15, 119 mins, genre: drama

In an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's seminal novel The Price of Salt, CAROL follows two women from very different backgrounds who find themselves in an unexpected love affair in 1950s New York. As conventional norms of the time challenge their undeniable attraction, an honest story emerges to reveal the resilience of the heart in the face of change. A young woman in her 20s, Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara), is a clerk working in a Manhattan department store and dreaming of a more fulfilling life when she meets Carol (Cate Blanchett), an alluring woman trapped in a loveless, convenient marriage. As an immediate connection sparks between them, the innocence of their first encounter dims and their connection deepens. While Carol breaks free from the confines of marriage, her husband (Kyle Chandler) begins to question her competence as a mother as her involvement with Therese and close relationship with her best friend Abby (Sarah Paulson) come to light.

8.The Danish Girl (Belgium, Denmark, United Kingdom, Japan, USA 2016) Cert 15, 117 mins, genre: drama

Director: Tom Hooper Cast: Eddie Redmayne, Alicia Vikander, Amber Heard

Copenhagen, 1926. Danish artist, Gerda Wegener, painted her own husband, Einar Wegener (Eddie Redmayne), as a lady in her painting. When the painting gained popularity, Einar started to change his appearance into a female appearance and named himself Lili Elbe. With his feminism passion and Gerda's support, Einar - or Elbe - attempted one of the first male-to-female sex reassignment surgery, a decision that turned into a massive change for their marriage, that Gerda realized her own husband is no longer a man or the person she married before. A childhood friend of Einar, art-dealer Hans Axgil (Matthias Schoenaerts), shows up and starts a complex love triangle with the couple.

9.The Dressmaker (Australia, UK 2016) Cert 12, 115 mins, genre: drama

Directors: Jocelyn Moorhouse, P.J. Hogan, Martha Goddard Cast: Kate Winslet, Judy Davis,Liam Hemsworth

Based on Rosalie Ham's best-selling novel, The Dressmaker is the story of femme fatale Tilly Dunnagewho returns to her small town in rural Australia. With her sewing machine and haute couture style, she transforms the women and exacts sweet revenge on those who did her wrong.

10.Eddie the Eagle (UK, Germany, USA 2016) Cert PG, 103 min, genre: drama, comedy

Director: Dexter Fletcher Cast: Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman, Tom Costello

Inspired by true events, Eddie the Eagle is a feel-good story about Michael "Eddie" Edwards (Taron Egerton), an unlikely but courageous British ski-jumper who never stopped believing in himself - even as an entire nation was counting him out. With the help of a rebellious and charismatic coach (played by Hugh Jackman), Eddie takes on the establishment and wins the hearts of sports fans around the world by making an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. From producers of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie the Eagle stars Taron Egerton as Eddie, the loveable underdog with a never say die attitude.

EYE IN THE SKY stars Helen Mirren as Colonel Katherine Powell, a UK-based military officer in command of a top secret drone operation to capture terrorists in Kenya. Through remote surveillance and on-the-ground intel, Powell discovers the targets are planning a suicide bombing and the mission escalates from "capture" to "kill." But as American pilot Steve Watts (Aaron Paul) is about to engage, a nine-year old girl enters the kill zone triggering an international dispute, reaching the highest levels of US and British government, over the moral, political, and personal implications of modern warfare.

12.Gemma Bovery (France, UK 2015) Cert 15, 97 mins, genre: comedy, romance

Director: Anne Fontaine Cast: Gemma Arterton, Fabrice Luchini, Jason Flemyng

Martin, an ex-Parisian well-heeled hipster passionate about Gustave Flaubert who settled into a Norman village as a baker, sees an English couple moving into a small farm nearby. Not only are the names of the new arrivals Gemma and Charles Bovery, but their behavior also seems to be inspired by Flaubert's heroes.

13.Grandma (USA 2015) Cert 15, 77 mins, genre: comedy, road movie

Director: Paul Weitz Cast: Lily Tomlin, Julia Garner, Marcia Gay Harden

Elle, a poet in her 70s who is recovering from the death of her long-time partner Violet and is in the process of breaking up with her new girlfriend Olivia, embarks on a road trip through Los Angeles with her pregnant granddaughter Sage.

14.High-Rise (UK, Belgium 2016) Cert 15, 116 mins, genre: Science Fiction

Director: Ben Wheatley Cast: Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller

Based on the novel by J. G. Ballard, Dr Robert Laing takes ownership of a luxurious apartment on the 25th floor of a Modernist tower block. The residents of the upper floors attend an endless round of raucous parties and Laing becomes fascinated by Anthony Royal, the enigmatic architect who designed the building. But when power outages become more frequent and building flaws emerge, particularly on the lower floors, the blocks regimented social strata begins to crumble.

15.Louder Than Bombs (Norway, France, Denmark, USA 2016) Cert 15, 102 mins, genre: drama

An upcoming exhibition celebrating photographer Isabelle Reed three years after her untimely death, brings her eldest son Jonah back to the family house - forcing him to spend more time with his father Gene and withdrawn younger brother Conrad than he has in years. With the three of them under the same roof, Gene tries desperately to connect with his two sons, but they struggle to reconcile their feelings about the woman they remember so differently.

Brian Wilson is the creative soul of the Beach Boys, but he paid a heavy price for his talent. In the 1980s, with Brian barely functional under the domination of the unscrupulous Dr. Landy, Brian meets and falls in love with Melinda Ledbetter. As their relationship grows, she observes Brian's crippling subservience to the abusive psychotherapist with growing alarm. Ultimately, she must take action with a love willing to stand up to oppression she cannot ignore.
