Selected Factories and Payment

Pricing for participants follows a sliding scale that is based on the number of assessment reports your organization intends to access.

Each factory subscription is for one cycle of factory services, including an initial assessment report and two follow up advisory progress reports. Your organization will be invoiced for the total amount of pre-paid Subscription Credits that can be used to unlock factory reports. Factory reports will not be released until payment is received.

The Better Work portal for Buyers allows users in your organization to review assessment and progress reports, manage third party agreements with suppliers, and purchase additional services. There are three levels of users available in your company portal. Please indicate the individuals below that should have access. Note, the following users must be employed by your company.

Super Users

These users can manage access to your company portal account, manage third party access agreements with suppliers, receive invoices and access reports.

Terms and Conditions

  1. By agreeing to the following terms and conditions the applicant organization requests permission to access factory assessment reports as a subscriber under the following terms and conditions:
  1. Upon the receipt of the payment in full, the subscriber will become authorized to receive a full cycle of factory information, including 1 assessment report and 2 advisory progress reports.
  1. The subscriber will only be granted access to a factory report once this access is approved by the named factory through filling out a Third Party Access Form.
  1. The subscription fee shall be based on the number of factories selected by buyers in accordance with paragraph 2 above. The fee will be set by ILO-IFC Better Work.
  1. Better Work will invoice subscribers each year based on the number of factories covered by the subscription for the upcoming year. Payment will be required within 45 days. No reports will be released until payment is made.
  1. ILO-IFC Better Work agrees to use its best efforts in assessing working conditions in the project country and providing timely reports. The ILO, IFC, or Better Work, their officials or other persons performing services on their behalf, shall not be liable for any consequences, claims, or disputes arising from this subscription including the content of individual establishment reports.
  1. The applicant shall not provide or disclose to third parties the contents contained in the assessment reports, without the written permission of the enterprise(s) in question and permission of ILO-IFC Better Work. None of the rights and obligations under the terms and conditions of the subscription, can be assigned, transferred, charged, delegated or disposed of in whole or in part, on a temporary or permanent basis, without the prior written consent of the ILO-IFC Better Work.
  1. The applicant may refer to its subscription to Better Work in its internal documents, such as those submitted to board and shareholder meetings and auditors’ reports. Subscriptions to Better Work and access to selected reports does not entitle the applicant to describe itself as a “sponsor” or “official partner” of the ILO-IFC Better Work programme. Any publicity proposed by the applicant may be done only after prior written permission from ILO-IFC Better Work.
  1. The applicant shall not use the name, including abbreviations, or logos of the International Labour Organization, the International Labour Office, the International Finance Corporation, or Better Work unless specifically authorized to do so upon prior written approval. The ILO and IFC cannot authorize any publicity in connection with commercial advertisement or similar promotional activities.
  1. Revenue raised by subscription will be used to further the goals of the Better Work program, as established by the ILO and IFC grant agreement. By paying the subscription fee, the applicant cannot expect to, or be permitted to, alter the schedule of assessment visits carried out by the Better Work enterprise advisors or interfere with the ILO and IFC full executive authority to conduct the activities of Better Work to improve working conditions in enterprises.
  1. ILO and IFC reserve the right to waive subscription fees for access to assessment reports for government organizations,

social partners or civil society organizations.

  1. The ILO may report any particulars of the applicant’s subscription fee to its Governing Body.
  1. Better Work may terminate the subscription at any time with immediate effect by written notice to the applicant in the event of an irremediable breach by the applicant, or in the event of a remedial breach, after the applicant has failed in Better Work’s reasonable opinion to remedy the breach within 15 (fifteen) days of being given notice to do so. Termination shall operate without prejudice to the rights and obligations of the applicant which have accrued prior to the date of termination of the subscription.
  1. Any dispute that may arise under this subscription arrangement shall first be the subject of an exchange of views between the parties. In the event that such dispute is not resolved by mutual agreement it shall be referred to the Administrative Tribunal of the International Labour Organization pursuant to paragraph 4 of Article II, of its Statute, whose decision shall be final and binding on the parties.
  1. Nothing in these terms and conditions or relating thereto shall be construed as constituting a waiver, express or implied, of the privileges and immunities enjoyed by the ILO and IFC.
