Volunteer Role –Merchandise Volunteer

Role description: to research the setting up of a charity ebay shop and the running this shop. To help with a review of Cobalt Cards which are made in return for donations and the marketing of these cards.

Tasks:

  • To assist with the setting up of a Cobalt ebaycharity shop and manage donations via this method.
  • To support the operations of the Cobalt Cards including reviewing display boxes, stock purchase and marketing opportunities.
  • To assist with the planning of the launch of Cobalt Cards in September and promotional activities.
  • To assist with Cards ForGood Causes programme which raises funds for Cobalt through printed cards distributed in Cards for Good Causes Shops throughout the region.

This role will be based at Linton House and will require some travel around Cheltenham occasionally. Ideally suited to someone with a retail / marketing background, who is happy to work independently, with support from the Fundraising Teams, and who has their own transport.Weekly hours are expected to be between 2 - 6hrs per week.

Line management:

Support will be provided by Fundraising Engagement Officer, Kirsty Bradbury.

Preferred skills:

  • Retail background with knowledge of sales and stock control.
  • Good people and communication skills.
  • Computer literate and comfortable with the main Microsoft Office tools, databases and emails.
  • Friendly and proactive character, comfortable working by yourself and as part of a team, able to use your own initiative and be able to ask for help when needed.
  • Full driving licence desirable.

Training & Support will be provided including an induction to medical charity Cobalt, regular updates on Cobalt’s fundraising activities and support, advice and guidance from Fundraising Engagement Officer and Head of Fundraising.

Reimbursement of expenses:

Mileage can be paid at 45p per mile with prior agreement.
