Minutes of the Flint Hill Elementary School Council Meeting
The Flint Hill Elementary School Council met on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 7:15 AM.

1. Call to Order
Al Miller called the meeting to order at 7:20 AM.
2. Inspiration
Dr. DiNardo acknowledged Susan Fowler for the inspirational message.
3. Pledge of Allegiance
Dr. DiNardo led the pledge of allegiance to the United States flag.
4. Approval of Agenda
Dr. DiNardo made a motion to amend the minutes to reflect the addition of guest speaker, PTO President, Mrs. Lisa Leal.
Moved, seconded, and carried that the school council approve the agenda as presented.
5. Approval of Minutes
Committee members read the minutes of the November 15, 2015 meeting of the school council.
Moved, seconded, and carried that the school council approve the minutes of the November 15, 2015 meeting.
6. Test Data and Information
Dr. DiNardo shared scores from the 2014 -2015 Georgia Milestones Assessment System (Georgia Milestones). Information regarding test scores can be found on the NCSS website. http://www.newtoncountyschools.org/departments/testing/georgia-milestones-assessments.aspx
7. Update on FLP and Focus:
FLP Parent Meeting to be held on Thursday, January 21 at 5:30 PM in the FHES Cafeteria.
8. PBIS – Melissa Hadaway
The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Team will continue to educate all staff on the PBIS approach, and create lesson plans to help teachers “teach” the expected behaviors in the independent areas of the school (such as playground, hallways, cafeteria, bathrooms, and bus).
9. Mrs. Lisa Leal, PTO President
PTO and School Council presidents met on January 6, 2016. Topics of discussion included NCSS Strategic Plan, Budget, Georgia Milestones, and Importance of Community Support. Mrs. Leal will present additional information at the March School Council Meeting.
10. Enrollment
Current enrollment at FHES is 1,081 students.
11. Adjournment
With no further business to come before the school council, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50AM.
