JOB DESCRIPTION
LETTINGS OFFICER
RESPONSIBLE TO: HOUSING SERVICES MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE:
1. To ensure that enquiries and referrals for accommodation are responded to quickly and personally, and that applicants who meet our criteria are interviewed, assessed and housed as quickly as possible.
2. To ensure that referrals are secured from existing sources and potential new sources through regular telephone contact, dissemination of information, and organising opportunities for presentations by Housing Staff at referrers place of work.
3. To monitor and identify patterns and trends in referrals and provide statistical reports to assist in the management and development of our housing services and provision.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Receive referrals and enquiries re-housing, and advise on eligibility.
2. Ensure referrals and enquiries are recorded and entered into the data collection system.
3. Arrange interview time and date and second interviewer.
4. Obtain background information, eg. probation reports, discharge plans, care plans, medical reports.
5. Conduct interviews, informing applicant of Byker Bridge housing options, terms and conditions of licence or tenancy agreement, and securing and recording all relevant information.
6. Complete relevant documentation, including needs and risk assessment.
7. Assess with Care Managers/Hostel Managers appropriate accommodation taking into account applicant preferences, needs and existing mix of residents.
8. Inform applicants and referrers of decision.
9. Monitor and update information of those awaiting interviews and those on the waiting list.
10. Maintain effective contact and relationships with referring services.
11. Ensure publicity materials re housing services are provided to regular and potential referrers.
12. Work closely with the Admin Officer (Housing) to ensure all information is promptly and accurately entered into the Housing Management Database, to enable monthly/quarterly/annual statistical reports to be produced.
13. Monitor patterns and trends, produce regular reports-statistical and qualitative.
14. Undertake other duties consistent with the post as directed by the Housing Services Manager eg participation in meetings, training, BBHA events.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Annual Remuneration £ 18,634
Hours of work 37.5 hours
Annual leave 26 days
Notice period 1 month
All staff are employed subject to the satisfactory completion of Twelve month probationary period.
Specific terms and conditions will be as stated in the Terms and Conditions of employment document
Supervision and direction will be provided by the Housing Services Manager.
