User Guide: Single portal user logging into My Aged Care using VANguard

This document outlines the initial and ongoing login processes for users of the VANguard process.

This document is for users who only need to have access to a single portal, that is either the Assessor portal or the Service Provider portal. To view the steps for users who require access to both the Assessor and Service Provider portal, view the MyAged Care guide for dual portal use.

How do I login to a portal for the first time using VANguard FAS?

Step One: Access your relevant My Aged Care portal by selecting a portal link below. Internet Explorer is the preferred browser for accessing the portals.
Service Providers: https://myagedcare-serviceproviderportal.dss.gov.au

Assessors: https://myagedcare-assessorportal.dss.gov.au

Note: Bookmark the relevant link above for easy access to the portal in the future.

Step Two: A ‘Login method’ screen will display. Select the ‘Government 3PT (Single Sign On)’ option to be directed to the ‘Agency Selection’ page.

Step Three: A ‘Security Warning Trusted Site’ pop-up will display. Click ‘Yes’ to this pop-up each time it appears.

Step Four: An ‘Agency Required’ page will be displayed. In the drop down menu select your organisation. If you select the wrong organisation you will be redirected back to this selection page to try again.

Step Five: A ‘Request activation code’ page will be displayed. Enter the email address that is linked to your portal user account, and select ‘Continue’.
Step Six: You will receive an email with an activation code. You will only need to use this activation code when logging in for the first time.

If you do not receive an email with your activation code, contact your
Organisation Administrator or the My Aged Care Service Provider and Assessor helpline on 1800 836 799. The helpline is available between 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm Saturday, local time across Australia

Step Seven: Enter the activation code you were provided via email, and select ‘Confirm’. Your account has now been successfully activated.

Your activation code is only valid for five days. If you require a new activation code, select ‘Resend activation Code’.

Step Eight: Select ‘Go to My Aged Care Portal’ to be directed to the relevant My Aged Care portal that you have been provided access to.
