NEIGHBOURHOOD NEWSLETTER

Rotherham Central Neighbourhoods Policing TeamJanuary 2018

TEAM UPDATE
Since our last newsletter we have welcomed PCSO Abby Grzesiek to the team, she will mainly be working in the Broom and Moorgate areas of Rotherham.

GOOD NEWS
There have been a number of good news stories across our priority areas over the last two months.
Town Centre
Together with RMBC partners we are taking positive action against any individuals who do not comply with the Public Space Protection Order. A total of 18 tickets have now been issued, the key offence being the consumption of alcohol in a public place where the individual concerned has refused to discard their alcohol.
We have also issued 20 warnings, 4 police cautions and one person has been reported on summons for offences related to begging, vagrancy and anti-social behaviour. On 5.12.17 we ran an operation in partnership with drug advisors, Key Choices and street wardens to support vulnerable homeless people in the town centre. A number of referrals were made to housing and drugs services and a follow-up partnership day is panned later this month.
Eastwood
Joint weekly tasking is now taking place across the Neighbourhood team and officers from RMBC to address issues related to anti-social behaviour in the area. We are planning a detailed update about this work in the next newsletter.
Seven men have been charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroine after a police operation recovered £10,000 drugs and £2,000 cash following concerns raised by the community. Many thanks to all those who provided information and support to this investigation.
Masborough
Following a closure order on Robert Street in October 2017 there have been no reports of anti-social behaviour on Robert Street or the adjoining streets.
