Nomination of an IPP Editor to update country information in the International Phytosanitary Portal (IPP)on behalf of the IPP Contact Point
The International Phytosanitary Portal (IPP) [ wasdeveloped by the IPPC Secretariat on request of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM). Itis an internet-based information system designed to hold official phytosanitary information published in accordance with the Convention and decisions by the CPM. The objective is to provide a single portal to official phytosanitary information and to facilitate IPPC contracting parties to meet their reporting obligations under the IPPC.
National Reporting Obligations include:
- Official contact point - Article VIII 2
- Description of NPPO and changes - Article IV 4
- Organizational arrangements for plant protection - Article IV 4
- Pest reporting - Article IV 2(b)
- Phytosanitary requirements, restrictions and prohibitions - Article VII 2(b)
- Rationale for phytosanitary requirements, restrictions and prohibitions - Article VII 2(c)
- Specified points of entry - Article VII 2(d)
- Non-compliance - Article VII 2(f)
- List of regulated pests - Article VII 2(i)
- Adequate information on pest status - Article VII 2(j)
- Emergency action - Article VII 6
- Exchange of information on plant pests, particularly the reporting of the occurrence, outbreak or spread - Article VIII 1(a)
- Technical and biological information necessary for PRA - Article VIII 1(c)
National data can only be entered into the IPP by the Official Contact Point and by officially-nominated information officers (IPPEditors). Although IPPC Contact Points are automatically able to enter phytosanitary information after they are nominated, they may wish to nominate an IPP Editor to undertake the data entry on their behalf.
