Livestock Price Guidelines

1. Cattle - marketing costs are included.

Calves & Feeder Cattle - Fall Price

501-600 $125/cwt $120/cwt

601-700 $120/cwt $115/cwt

701-800 $115/cwt $110/cwt

801-900 $110/cwt $105/cwt

901-1000 $105/cwt $ 100/cwt

Dairy steers should be discounted by 10%.

2. Slaughter Cattle

A. Choice steers and heifers - $100/cwt

B. Cull cows and bulls - $50/cwt

3. Hogs

A. U.S. #1-3 barrows and gilts 250-275 lbs. - $58/cwt

B. Feeder pigs – (40 to 50 lbs.) $1.00/lb.

C. Cull sows and boars - $40/cwt

D. Isowean pigs based on contract price.

4. Sheep

A. Lambs - $90/cwt

B. Cull Ewes and rams - $25/cwt

5. Goats: You will need to contact the local market that our customer intends to utilize.

Individual markets need to be considered.

6. Milk

A. Grade A Milk $15.74/cwt

Field Crops

Prices for planning purposes are subject to area transportation costs.

1. Wheat $ 6.00 per bushel

2. Yellow Corn $ 5.00 per bushel

3. Grain Sorghum $ 4.50 per bushel

4. Oats $ 2.50 per bushel

5. Soybeans $10.00 per bushel

6. Sugar beets initial payment $ 35.00

bonus payment $ 10.00

7. Pinto Beans $30.00 per cwt.

8. Great Northern Beans $30.00 per cwt.

9. Millet $ 5.50 per cwt.

10. Alfalfa Hay $100.00 per ton

11. Native Hay $65.00 per ton

Specialty crops such as white corn, high oil corn, popcorn, sunflowers, potatoes, etc. should be based on actual contracts between the operator and buyer.

The FSA program payments such as, DCP, CRP, ECP, EQUIP, WRP, LAP, etc. should be included in the cash flow as a separate line item.

For those producers enrolled in ACRE for the 2012 production year, a 20% reduction in the DCP payment should be made.
