Subject: DIVISION 2 REGISTERED ADULT OF THE YEAR; SUBMISSION OF

Background: Each unit should consider the contribution of their Registered Adults. Without them and the countless hours they put forth in support of the Young Marine program, we do not have a program. Battalion Commanders will select a deserving Registered Adult as their Battalion Registered Adult of the Year. Battalion Registered Adults of the Year will be forwarded up the chain of command for consideration as the next higher level.
Criteria: Registered Adults selected should be compliant with current regulations. Registered Adults selected should be considered based on the following:
· Ability to lead, inspire and motivate Young Marines in a positive way.
· Comply with National Young Marine Policies and Directives.
· Comply with National policies for Drug Demand Reduction.
· Serve as a positive role model.
· Contributed to the Young Marine program in such a way it left a positive impression.
Policy: The Division Commander will make his selection based on the aforementioned criteria and will receive input/recommendations from the Regiments and Battalions reporting to the Division. The Division Commander reserves the right to add names not presented to him from Regiments and Separate Battalions in case other qualified names are known.
Suspense: Nominations for Registered Adult of the Year will be submitted as follows:
Battalion / Regiment / DivisionRegistered Adult of the Year / Units that are nominating a Registered Adult for consideration as the Battalion Registered Adult of the Year will have their package submitted to the Battalion Commander no later than 31 October to be eligible to compete for Battalion Registered Adult of the Year / Battalions (under a regiment) that are nominating a Battalion Registered Adult of the Year for Regimental Registered Adult of the Year will have their package submitted to the Regimental Commander no later than 15 November to be eligible to compete for Regimental Registered Adult of the Year / Separate Battalions (e.g. Metro DC, Kentucky, and Delaware) and Regiments nominating a Registered Adult for Division Registered Adult of the Year will have their package submitted to the Division Commander no later than 30 November to be eligible to compete for Division Registered Adult of the Year
This Division Policy will be reviewed one year from now and republished as necessary.
