Installation of Electronic Cable As Per Specifications and NEC Codes

Total Compliance Services, Inc., a division of Low Voltage Contractors, Inc. is currently looking for a Low Voltage Technician for the installation, termination, inspection, maintenance, repair, service, wire pulling and certification of commercial fire alarm and security systems distributed by TCS.

Responsibilities:

·  Installation of electronic cable as per specifications and NEC codes.

·  Basic wiring and installation of hardware used in fire alarm and security systems.

·  Operation of cable testing equipment to ensure system performance.

·  Plan and initiate projects.

·  Install and service electronic fire and security systems.

·  Strong understanding of electronic components and circuitry.

·  Install Pathways and Spaces for Installation of Low Voltage Wiring.

·  Install, terminate and test wires and cables, both Copper and Fiber-Optic.

·  Install, test, certify and troubleshoot Local Area Network (LAN) Cabling Systems.

·  Lay Out, Install and Verify Operation of Security and Access Control Systems.

·  Install Communications and Sound Distribution Systems.

·  Provide Testing, Analysis and Repair of Video, Voice and Data Systems; including Electronic Devices such as Gateways, Routers, Hubs, NIC Cards, Telephone Switches, etc.

·  Prefabricate Systems, such as Telecommunications Racks, for field installation.

·  Meet all installation deadlines.

·  Responsible for accurate tracking on time sheets, service/installation tickets and inventory items.

·  Full compliance with company's and customer's safety program.

·  Strong understanding of Local Fire Code, NFPA 72, NEC 70 and other applicable codes. Ability to maintain or acquire local licenses and/or required certifications.

·  Other duties as required or assigned by company management.

Qualifications:

An associate’s degree in electronics is preferred plus a minimum of two years industry experience. Industry experience will be considered on an individual basis. A working knowledge of low voltage systems is required.
