International Sustainability Development Fund Scholarship

Description:

This scholarship is provided to assist eligible students to participate in international experiential learning programs and courses offered in conjunction with the International Sustainable Development Institute (ISDI) at Central Washington University.

Requirements:

Applicant must be enrolled full-time at anaccredited institution of higher education in the U.S.

Must provide evidence of financial need

Must be in good academic standing

Must be accepted into an ISDI affiliated program (GIVE)

Selection criteria:

Financial need

Academic achievement

Expression of commitment (essay)

Demonstrated civic engagement and/or leadership activities

Preference will be given to students of sophomore or junior standing

Preference may be given to students in a disciplinary field pertinent to international sustainable development

Required supplemental materials:

  1. A copy of the student’s financial aid award letter (scanned and attached to email)
  2. A current copy of the student’s unofficial transcripts (scanned and attached to emai)
  3. A 500-600 word essay addressing (attached as word document):
  1. A brief statement of your background and interests.
  2. A description of how you see this opportunity positively impacting you personally, academically, and professionally.

Scholarship Conditions:

Students who are awarded anInternational Sustainability Development Fund scholarship will be required to sign a form agreeing to the following conditions:

The student agrees to use the funds for the specific purpose of fully participating in the ISDI’s affiliated course and program. The student shall abide by any additional requirements mandated asstated in the scholarship award letter, and will contact the ISDI for approval of any changes to the requirements before they occur.

As proof that the funds given were used as specified by the ISDI, the student will meet all course and program payment deadlines and appear on official rosters.

The student will complete all course assignments, to include the final portfolio. This portfolio will be made available to the ISDI to use for promotional purposes.

Understand that scholarship recipient may be required to repay, in full or a portion of, the scholarship award should the trip be cancelled or terminated by any participating party. The ISDI Director retains the authority to determine the sum of such a reimbursement.

The student may be further obligated to share experiences with other students through presentations, written accounts, or other mediums at the request of the ISDI. Any costs associated with endorsed presentations shall be covered by the ISDI.
