The title in the 490 field is usually the “unauthorized” title, probably the way the title appeared on the item in hand. Sometimes, a series title is traced differently from the title as it appears on the item in hand. You must verify the authorized heading in the authority files/records. In an authority record, the 440, 830, and other title headings are 130 tags.
