A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Clivan Caudill.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Clivan Caudill, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Clivan Caudill was born on February 23, 1927, a native son of the Commonwealth and a resident of Pippa Passes, Kentucky, and traversed these earthly bounds on February 10, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Clivan Caudill was a retired coal tipple operator and a proud veteran of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Clivan Caudill was a faithful member in good standing of Hollybush Regular Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, Clivan Caudill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Jane Slone Caudill; and

WHEREAS, Clivan Caudill is also survived by eight children: Denzil Caudill of Hollybush, Kentucky; Don Caudill of Topmost, Kentucky; Betty Hoover of Garrett, Indiana; Vonda Caudill of Hindman, Kentucky; Geraldine Conley of Kendallville, Indiana; Maxine Hall of Dry Creek, Kentucky; Thelma "Puttie" Hall of Dry Creek, Kentucky; and Kathy Faine of Raven, Kentucky; and

WHEREAS, Clivan Caudill was the proud and loving grandfather of 22 grandchildren and the great-grandfather of 14 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Clivan Caudill was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Caudill and Louise Caudill; two sons, Clivan Caudill, Jr. and Larry Asa Caudill; and two grandsons, Shane Als Caudill and Clivan Caudill III; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Clivan Caudill has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Clivan Caudill, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. The Senate recognizes that Clivan Caudill was truly loved and respected by his family and friends and the members further acknowledge his service to this nation as a member of the United States Army.

Section 3. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Clivan Caudill.

Section 4. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Jane Slone Caudill, 292 Hollybush Road, Pippa Passes, KY 41844.
