MONEY COUNTING TEAM NO 1 THIS WEEK

A HUGE BBQ THANK YOU

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in the run up to the Parish BBQ and also on the day and to those who baked and/or prepared delicious salads. A special mention must go to our chefs Steve Glanville, Pierre Morel, Neal Mangeolles, Paul Cooper, Omar Jina, Neil Carter and Martin Smith. Many thanks also to Andrea Bradford, Theresa Houlihan, Rhiannon Jina, Anne Cramphorn, Michelle Lang, Mr Pavey and Mrs Fusi, your help and support was immensely appreciated.

I would also like to thank the following businesses for the kind support we were given for the raffle prizes/Bake Off:

Belgique

Beauty by Liz

Lulu

Mr Simms

Paradise Wildlife Park

Lastly, but by no means least, thank you for coming to the Parish BBQ and making it a huge success. It was enjoyed by all and we have raised an astounding grand total of £1925 towards the new Parish Centre.

Congratulations to the winner of the ‘Bake Off’ Berenger & Angele Morel.

Well done

Thank you

Michelle Glanville

HAPPY HOLIDAY

To those of you who are going away for a summer break, we hope that you have a happy and refreshing time and come back to us safe and sound.

Remember, however, that God himself does not have holidays and that there will be Sunday Mass wherever in the world you may visit. For those of you with computers, you will be able to ‘Google’ the place you are going to, together with ‘Catholic Church’ and hopefully you will find out the location of the Catholic Church. If you need help in locating a church in another part of this country, please feel free to phone the Presbytery and we’ll happily look it up for you in the Catholic directory.

FIRST COMMUNION REGISTRATION

CAFOD

Cafod writes in the latest issue of their magazine 'Side by Side' - "We would especially like to thank all of you who have shown such compassion and supported our Lent Appeal with your gifts and prayers . The wonderful news is that because you donated over £3.5 million, the UK government will give the full amount they promised at the start of the appeal - another £3.5 million. This means even more women, men and children will see real, lasting change in their lives because of you.”

Sponsored Bike ‘n Hike – Saturday 10th September

GARDENERS URGENTLY NEEDED

Fr. John still needs more volunteers to take over caring for a very small area of the flower beds on either side of the presbytery doors as the previous gardeners are no longer able to continue. If anyone could spare some time, always at your convenience, please speak to either Fr. John or Jean McAleer. Thank you.
