  • Balances at 5/12/2010 – Scholarship Certificates of Deposit- $22,712.90
  • Balances at 5/12/2010 – Club General Treasury Certificates of Deposit - $73,776.62
  • Balances at 5/12/2010 – Club Check Account Balance - $30,299.26
  • Newsletter – Sean says that newsletter needs content – it’s up to members to submit it.
  • Website – Mara: Is the home page too busy? General agreement.
  • Look at it and make some ideas to discuss next month.
  • Sean: More response from e-news than website message board
  • Ed: about 1000 unique computers hit it daily – see google metric on the website.

  • Club Races
  • Carytown – report from Don asking for volunteers.
  • Stratford Hills – We are having it – eveything’s on track.
  • Cul-de-sac – Steven Lerner: All fine; school, police, permit, porta john, papa john pizza, all on target
  • Moonlight 4 miler – everything good; Race moving to West Creek; discussion re: beer truck, Karl not aware except for will need to ask Farm Bureau first; extra porta johns then.
  • Patrick Henry – 59 signed up now; training team starts soon; not much more yet until June; counting on same helpers
  • Issue with link from sportsbackers to PHHM or vice-versa; to be fixed; printable application available.
  • Pony Pasture – 70 signed up; donations of $3000; permit okay; shirts questionable
  • Capitol 10M – all set; verbal police approval; traffic control people to be worked with; Chic-fil-a one mile kids race - $10 plus a $5 discount – limit 12 years old 6-8, 8-10, 10-12,etc; 10M starts at 7:30; plus 1 mile Special Olympics race 7:45; 8:00 kids race. Course changed a bit: out to meadow on grace, circle through park, do frostbite loop, come back up to Oregon Hill then up 2nd to Franklin then downhill straight to finish line. Looking for sponsors for race besides Chic-fil-A.
  • Timing company $2 per head on kids race; medal similar to dog-tag; costsa bout a buck; tee-shirt too for $10. Chic-Fil-A discount of $5.
  • Packet pick up at different Chic-Fil-A locations in town; free ice-cream given away; coupon in packets
  • Trying to get a spirit program for schools going.
  • Pete: commenting on volunteer sign up online – it’s working but each race is different and he needs help from each RD
  • Q EC re: PHHM – who manages volunteers SB or RRRC? MG: will talk to SB and Pete Neal too.
  • Ed: Bill Kelly is RD for kids race at Cap 10M: multiple cows will start each race. Discussion about packet pickup at restaurants and who staffs it.
  • Damon Manning: Volunteer/RD manual working on for future races.
  • EC: Informed by K O’C that he’s not doing Bear Creek – maybe Barry K will direct.
  • Contract Races
  • Sat: Run for hope timed by Barry; 5/22Ashcreek - timing?; 5/29 autism 5k – Mike n Mike;6/12 Abby’s 5k – timed by unknown
  • Special requests for fall: 8/23 - VA Home for Boys/Girls Home Community Day: we are asked to be involved. Same weekend as Building Wishes 5k, which is small. Many volunteers lost due to MTT. With corporate backing this could be big.
  • 10/31(Sunday): Ymca wants RRRC participation in their event – could be run like small race – okay.
  • Group Training (Carrie Parker): PHHMTT Matt Renaker and Dana Dews; 3Sports / CJW donated $500each. Two clinics;
  • working to update M&M; also working on website list of group runs. Contact Carrie to get your group run listed!!!
  • Other business: Scholarship: none received yet. Letters to schools/coaches sent out.; Two weeks left to receive. E-mail problem should go to Doris/Chevy – Ed to check on it; nothing on website.
  • Other business: Summer Track Series moving to Maggie Walker (90% certain); volunteer issues at end of last year.
  • Other business: Always looking for sponsorships – contact Sean if know; looking for sponsorships coordinator.
  • Other business: 3Sports club night: Open after hours for club members only in near future; will be on calendar soon.
  • Other business: Road ID (Pete Neal). Emergency bracelet $35 setup fee to have our logo on the selection list. Motion - second – approved.
  • Other business: Should RRRC be USATF members? (Greg). SC: abt $50. Marianna motioned for it – second – approved.
  • Other business: Bill Webb – donate timing to Patrick Henry cross country? 7/8 Thurs night. SC moved – second – approved.
