Operating Rules

It is essential that all coaches are knowledgeable andfollow BR game rules, some of which are different thanSBA rules. All BR league games must follow BR rulesregardless of the location of these games. Rules, schedules, coach lists and more can be found at:

Especially important forcoaches to know:

All BR League games will follow the Pitch Count rules as

established by the SBA & found listed on the SBA website.

For AA & A teams, there is NO automatic forfeit due to less

than 9 players. The team which has less than 9 has the option

of playing the game or not. If the game is played the final

score is the official score. (There is no automatic out for

missing batters.) For AAA, if a team has less than 9 the game

is forfeited. It can however be played for practice purposes.

Rally Cap, Mosquito A, Mosquito AA, & PW A have specific rules toaccommodate skill level that are different than SBA rules.

Make sure you are aware of them by checking the highlighted

rules on the specific division tab at

Playoff rules for 2014: All teams must play 60% of a full season schedule. If not, Teams will be given a Loss on their record until 60% has been reached. Winning Percentage will still be used to determine standings.

/ 2014 Out of Town
Team Formation Guidelines

Note: Baseball Regina has established the following guidelines for travel within each level forMosquito through Bantam:

“A” level – out of town teams must be within 30 minutes/50 km of Regina

“AA” level – out of town teams must be within 60 minutes/100 km of Regina for Mosquito

and 75 minutes/120 km for Pee Wee & Bantam

“AAA” level – no limits

Any variances to these limits are subject to Baseball Regina approval.

Rookie teams do not generally travel, but exceptions may be granted

by the Board of Directors

Note: Baseball Regina has established the following guidelines for team formation.

Out of town teams will follow the same standard used by Baseball Regina.

- If 3 or more teams are made in one division, there must be an AAA, AA & A team.

- If two teams are being made in one division they are not to both be at the A level.

- When one team is being made we expect a community to place the team in the skill levelmost appropriate for them.

Any variances to this are subject to Baseball Regina approval.

Baseball Regina reserves the right to place a team where appropriate

In addition, at times an out of town team may need to use over age players

to have enough numbers to form a team. If this is the case, request

permission of the BR board. Overage players must be only 1 year older

and cannot pitch or catch and the opposing coach must be made

aware of the overage player.

GAME SCORE REPORTING

Baseball Regina game scores and standing will be reported on the Baseball Regina website. In addition standings will be submitted nightly to the Leader Post Sports Section.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO ENSURE THE SCORES AREUP TO DATE!

It is the responsibility of the Home Team to report scores immediately following each game. Plus any interesting game information, i.e. winning pitcher, double plays, home runs, etc. Please assign your team manager or a parent to be responsible for this (passwords should be shared only with the designated manager/parent). If the score ismissing and you were the visiting team, please submit.

The Regina Leader Post hasoffered more coverage to us but we must provide them with the game scores from onecentral contact. This means the scores need to be posted each night before 10 PM.

In the event of a makeup game played at a later date, the scores from that gamewould be reported immediately following the game, using the original Game #.

To make the reporting process as easy as possible, please follow the method below:

ON-LINE REPORTING

Report your game results on the Baseball Regina website

You must have the user ID and password. If you have not been given it contact our office at

IMPORTANT: Failure to report game scores within 7 days may result in a team beingineligible to enter league playoffs

**Game score reporting does not apply to Rookie and Senior Rookie Divisions

**Do not report rainout or cancelled games. Only report score once they are played

RAINOUTS/CANCELLATIONS

Rainouts

Games will not be called a rainout unless done so by the Park where the game was to be played.

Rainouts will be posted on the Park phone lines by approximately 4:00-4:30 p.m.

PacerPark721-PARK

Lions Park 543-0229

Columbus Park 584-7929

Baseball Regina encourages the attempted rescheduling of games. Rescheduling of rainouts is the home team’s responsibility. Contact the appropriatecoach to reschedule.

*** **** COLD TEMPERATURE RULE

Regina Parks will follow a rule of cancelling games by placing a message

on the park phone, just as rainouts are currently done, for temperatures at

4°C or lower at 4:00 PM as determined by a common website. Do not decide

on your own to cancel a game in Regina due to temperature. CHECK THE

APPROPRIATE PARK PHONE. For out of town games, please contact the

coach you are to play against for a decision between the two of you.

Cancellations

Coaches are to make every reasonable effort to ensure all games scheduled are played,

therefore cancellation of games for any reason except for those cancelled by the parks

(rainouts) is strongly discouraged.

CODE OF DISCIPLINE

a) Applies to all season play.

b) If Baseball Regina finds that the behavior of the player or coach warrants a

more stringent

suspension, they can change the suspension accordingly.

c) Baseball Regina may investigate ejections and as a result of that investigation

determine if

an ejection will count towards the Minimum Suspensions levels below.

d) Coaches are responsible for knowing and following the BR Code of Discipline.

e) All player and coach ejections in league, tournament and exhibition games

must be dealt

with immediately by the coach, and reported to the Division Director within 48 hours of the ejection or before the next scheduled game, which ever is earlier. Coaches failing to notify the Division Director are subject to suspension.

f) Coaches must inform the opposing coaches that a player is suspended. Any

players on suspension are expected to attend the game(s) but are not allowed to interact with their team and must remain in the stands.

g) Failure of a coach to sit a suspended player will result in forfeiture of the game
