Who are the UN-HOLY Trinity?
  • Satan – The Dragon, The Serpent of Old, our Adversary,
  • Anti-Christ – the coming world leader, False Messiah,
  • False Prophet – Imitator of the Holy Spirit, supporting the Anti-Christ
  • GOD is the Great Creator and Originator – SATAN the Great Impersonator & Imitator,
Is there more evidence here that John wrote this book and the 4th Gospel?
  • Gospel – John points to several miracles of Jesus as SIGNS as used in Revelation

What are the 2 of 7 SIGNS of Revelationthat are in this section?
  • A woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve starson her head…
  • an enormous red dragonwith seven headsand ten hornsand seven crownson its heads…
Who is this WOMAN?
  • MARY Mother of Jesus, as the child appears to be Jesus, but this is not likely:
  • This is set in Heaven and she was not in Heaven prior to giving birth to Jesus,
  • She delivered Jesus in Bethlehem,
  • Mary was not clothed with stars and planets,
  • The woman flees into the wilderness during the Tribulation period (TP),
  • Satan and his demonic forces are persecuting the woman in the TP.
  • The CHURCH, not likely:
  • The Church was not established until after the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus,
  • Jesus gave birth to the Church, “I will build my Church…”.
  • Some bazaar ideas e.g. MARY BAKER EDDY (Christian Science) –giving birth to Christian Science. The Red Dragon, those who opposed her new religion, unlikely.
  • ISRAEL:The other place this description is seen, is in Genesis 37, Likeliest.
“Then he had another dream,and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven starswere bowing down to me.””Genesis 37:9 NIV
Who are the 4 Women of Revelation?
  • Jezebel = Immorality,
  • This Woman = Israel,
  • The Harlot = Apostacy,
  • The Bride of Christ = The Church.
Who was the woman giving birth to (v5)?
  • Jesus.
  • ”…who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”” Millennial Kingdom,
  • “… her child was snatched upto God and to his throne.”” Ascension.
Why was she in so much pain?
  • Israel was under the rule of the ROMAN EMPIRE and crying out for the MESSIAH and DELIVERY.

  • Satan – The Dragon, The Serpent of Old, our Adversary,

Satan’s Fall
12:1-6 / Who, or What were the 3rd of the Stars that fell to Earth?
  • Satan’s Fallen Angels: Demons.
“How you have fallenfrom heaven,morning star,son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth,you who once laid low the nations!” Isaiah 14:12 NIV – Taunt to the King of Babylon
How many Angels are there?
  • We are not told specifically,
  • MYRIADS is the only numerical description given = 10x10,000x10,000,
  • Created to be Holy.
What happened to them?
  • Probably, an Archangel Satan, was Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12) Latin = Venus,
  • Filled with PRIDE, he rebelled against God, “I will be like the Most High God, I will ascend into Heaven to the Throne.” He wanted all the Angels and creation to worship him. (Isaiah 14 Ezekiel 28),
  • He takes ⅓ of the stars, or Angels with him and they are now demons,
  • We do not know why those Angels followed Satan and left the Lord God.
  • God gives help and salvation to man but NOT to the fallen Angels.
“For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.17For this reason he had to be made like them,fully human in every way, in order that he might become a mercifuland faithful high priestin service to God,and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.18Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”Hebrews 2:16-18 NIV
If Satan (A Fallen-Angel) repented, could he be saved?
  • There doesn’t appear to be a plan of salvation for demons from Hebrew 2:16,
  • The Angels were created holy and had free-will; Man is born in sin,
  • Were in the presence of God and His throne in Heaven,
  • Saw the true beauty, holiness and goodness of God and still rebelled, what hope remains?
  • All that awaits them now is Judgement.
Does God then only save ‘Abraham’s Descendants’, what about everyone else?
  • Those who believe in Jesus and are saved become Abraham’s descendants by faith.
“Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. 8 Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.”9 So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.” Galatians 3:7-9 NIV (Gen. 12:3; 18:18; 22:18)
Has God banished Satan from Heaven?
  • No, it has just ceased to be his home. (See Job 1),
  • He is also the accuser of the saints.
How does the Dragon try to kill the Christ child at birth?
  • He used King Herod, but he was foiled by the visiting Magi and so, killed all male children ≤ 2 years old in the hope of killing the Christ-child.
“When they had gone, an angelof the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.“Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.””Matthew 2:13ff NIV
Where will the Woman (Israel) go to?
  • “…fled into the wilderness…” for 1,260 days (3½ Years) 2nd half of the Tribulation period.
  • “…to a place prepared for her by God…” ‘Prepared’ is the same Greek word used by John in his Gospel for the Upper-Room, “I go to prepare a place for you”; only twice in the NT,
  • Suggested: Petra: Moab, Edom and Ammon= Present day Kingdom of Jordan.Daniel 11:41
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” John14:3 NIV
““So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.”Matthew 24:15-16 NIV (Daniel 9:27; 11:31; 12:11)
“He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand.”Daniel 11:41
Satan’s War
2:7-12 / Who leads this war against Satan and why?
  • Archangel Michael (St Michael). We are not told the reason why it started or how fought,
  • Possibly link: 2 witnesses, that Satan fought to prevent him becoming a witness.
“But even the archangelMichael,when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses,did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”” Jude 9 NIV
What happens?
  • Satan can’t defeat Michael, Devil barred from Heaven, can’t accuse the saints,
  • DEVIL = Accuser/slanderer; SATAN = Adversary; Dragon; Serpent of old (Genesis),
  • Saints rejoice: Now Satan has been cast out of Heaven, Jesus’ return is imminent,
  • Satan will be locked up in the Abyss for 1,000 before being thrown into the Lake of Fire.
What is the Saints defence against the Accuser/Slanderer, the Devilv11?
  • What Christ did on the CROSS; ‘the blood of the Lamb’ Romans 8:28,
  • What Christ did in their HEARTS; ‘the word of their testimony’,
  • What Christ does in their LIVES; ‘they did not love their lives unto the death’.
“They triumphed overhimby the blood of the Lamband by the word of their testimony;they did not love their lives so muchas to shrink from death.” Revelation 12:11 NIV

What will happen on the Earth?
  • He will take all of his rage out on the inhabitants of the Earth for the next 3½ Years.

Satan’s Persecution
2:13-17 / “…you were redeemed… with the precious bloodof Christ, a lambwithout blemish or defect
20He was chosen before the creation of the world,but was revealed in these last timesfor your sake.21Through him you believe in God,who raised him from the deadand glorified him,and so your faith and hope are in God.”1 Peter 1:19-21 NIV
What examples of Satan’s Anti-Christs have there been?
  • Pharaoh – Genesis - Trying to destroy the Israelites,
  • Haman – Esther – Attempted Genocide,
  • Herod – to kill the Christ-child,
  • Stalin/Hitler – How can Messiah set up His kingdom, if the Jews are destroyed?
What is anti-Semitism?
  • Satan’s creation for destroying God’s Chosen people,
  • Noah’s son Shem descendants are known as Semites and referrers to the Asiatic peoples,
  • Abraham was a descendant of Shem, and is the father of the Israelites (Jews),
  • Anti-Semitism, refers to the persecution and prejudice against the Jewish people,
  • In the Tribulation Period Anti-Semitism will reach its Zenith,
  • To Persecute – pursue, chase, hunt down.
“”…This third I will put into the fire;I will refine them like silverand test them like gold.They will callon my nameand I will answerthem; I will say, ‘They are my people,’and they will say, ‘TheLordis our God.’”” Zechariah 13:9 NIV
What will happen to the Jews?
  • Two-thirds of all Jews alive at the time will be killed.
  • The remnantare likely to be Messianic Jews and will be protected by God.
