Note for Last Day of School: Thursday, June 16, 12:00PM. All staff will be convening for an off-campus meeting shortly thereafter, and all students should plan to be off campus by 1:00PM. No school lunch will be served on Thursday! Thank you, parents, for making arrangements for their transportation home, as the staff will not be on campus to supervise students.

The Principal’s Message

The RAHS community is piloted by many things, but I consider the slipstream of inspiration as our fundamental force. I felt the pull on Friday as we honored our most inspirational scholar, Andrew Gong, the Hubble Award recipient, Joan Aoanan, and the Phoenix Award winner, Loren McDonald. Andrew, Joan, and Loren have left an indelible mark on our community. As individuals, they modeled a positive example that is worthy of their respective accolades.

Out of respect and gratitude, I want to thank everyone who contributed an amazing, memorable, and inspirational Friday. The All-School Awards slide show and Lip Dub video captured the highlights of our school culture in grand style. Our yearbook editors, PTSA, ASB, Spirt Squad, and Mr. Aviation organizers made the day exceptional. Congratulations are in order for Josh Buenbrazo, who was crowned 2016 Mr. Aviation, and first runner-up, Miles Bush, and second runner up, Felix Bosques.

The week ahead is guaranteed to be one for the memory books. The City of Tukwila mayor, Allen Ekberg, and selected councilmembers arrive on Tuesday to dedicate Phoenix Drive. On Thursday, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Randy Dorn, brings our community a message of congratulations—just before we say goodbye to our seniors at the Rose Ceremony. Our farewell salute to the seniors will be marked by an all-school, stairwell cheer. Let’s wish them well as they head to their commencement ceremony on Friday. Seniors…you will be missed!

I look forward to finishing well, and enjoying another extraordinary week of school together. Thank you for inspiring me!
