Agreement to Participate – New Members

The undersigned library hereby expresses its intent to participate in the Kansas Library Express courier service from January through December, 2017. The cost is determined by the number of deliveries per week and the number of items shipped by the library. (See the 2017 fee schedule below.) The annual fee will be billed and payable prior to March 1, 2017. Libraries closed for one month or more may suspend delivery. Charges are pro-rated for the months no service is received. Participation in KICNET state-wide interlibrary loan is required. Libraries should maintain a minimal postage budget to allow for occasional shipments by mail to libraries not receiving courier service.

·  The base fee is $1050 for 3 days/week service and $2400 for 5 days/week. This rate is for 12 months service from January through December, 2017.

·  Above a volume of 4,000, a volume surcharge of $500 for each 3,000 items is added. Libraries shipping more than 7,000 items must have 5 days/week service.

·  Kansas Regional Systems are providing a variety of subsidies and grants to their member libraries. Please check with your regional system to determine the actual cost to your library.
