I.  Introduction

The Badger Prairie Health Care Center (BPHCC) serves as an important link in Dane County’s health and long-term care systems for older adults and adults with disabilities. The nursing facility provides services and treatment to adults with behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric disorders that keep them from living with their own families, in the community, or in other nursing homes. Dane County is now constructing a 120-bed replacement facility based in the neighborhood concept, to support Dane County’s mission and vision for patient and resident care. The facility has a expected completion date of October 1, 2010. The estimated size of the project is roughly 100,000 square feet, with a budget of $21,000,000. More information about BPHCC is available at the following web site: http://www.danecountyhumanservices.org/nursinghome.shtm

The County of Dane, Wisconsin, is soliciting information from manufacturers regarding healthcare furniture available in the market which meets the stated specifications. Responses to this Request for Information (RFI) will enable the County to evaluate its furniture options, first on paper and then at a vendor show to be held in Madison on April 28, 2010. The County is seeking as much information as possible through this RFI process. As such, all manufacturers with furniture which meets the specifications, are encouraged to respond. Manufacturers who choose not to respond to this RFI will not have their products considered for furnishing the facility.
