Missions - Mission money is collected on Fridays from LES students and on Sundays from Sunday School students. Our second quarter mission is the Humanitarian Aid Committee. This committee uses money to help build bridges for proclaiming the gospel by doing projects like wells for clean water, providing medicine, food, and clothing.
Report Cards - All K-8 students were given 1st quarter report cards to bring home today. The report cards are in an envelope. Please sign the envelope to indicate that you received the report card and return the envelope to your child’s teacher, preferably at Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Cousin’s Day – Our next Cousin’s lunch day is Wednesday, November 26. An order form is attached. All orders are due to your teacher by November 17. Note: First grade will be participating in the Thanksgiving feast and will not have Cousin’s for lunch that day.
Voters’ Meeting Tonight! – All men of the congregation over the age of 18 should plan to attend tonight’s Voters’ meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Grace Room. Among other items on the agenda, we will be calling a 5th grade teacher to start next school year.
Theme Day – Our November theme day is Red, White, and Blue day on Tuesday, November 11.
We need YOU! – Volunteers are needed on Mondays and every other week on Tuesday and Thursday to serve hot lunch. Parents or Grandparents, can you help out? Time commitment is 10:40 a.m.-12:40 p.m. Your child/grandchild’s hot lunch account will be credited one hot lunch meal each time you serve. Parent/Teacher Conferences (Kindergarten - Grade 8) – Conferences are Thursday from 4:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - noon. Grades K-5 have been assigned a time with their child’s teacher. A schedule is attached. Or, check the school website ( for a link to the schedule. Parents of 6th-8th graders can meet with their student’s teachers anytime during conference hours.
7th and 8th Grade Forensics – The Forensics Festival is this Saturday, November 8 at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Students should arrive no earlier than 8:30 a.m. and no later than 8:45 a.m. We will meet in Room 227 at the High School. We practice Tuesday and Wednesday 3:15-4:00 p.m. All students should be present for Wednesday’s practice because they will receive important information for the Festival. We need one parent to supervise the meeting room on Saturday. If you can help, please call Mrs. Steinbrecher (414-422- 0320, ext. 141). Thank you for your help.
Living Nativity – Men, we need your help in a lot of areas!!! Stable assembly is this Saturday, November 8. Meet at the school at 8:30 a.m. We are still looking for a “Joseph”, Wise Men, a prophet and shepherds on Saturday and Sunday. We only have 1 Roman Guard for the whole weekend. Women, we need your help too. Women can play the part of a star carrier and shepherds. We have, in the past, had women perform as Wise Men if the part can’t be filled by a man. Sunday is always our biggest attendance night. PLEASE consider helping this awesome outreach program as we can’t do this without your help. We are still looking for a horse and a donkey to perform in all shows and 2 more fire pits. School Pictures – Pictures were sent home last Wednesday. If you are dissatisfied with your portrait or missed having your picture taken the first time, retakes will be taken on Wednesday, December 3 at 9:00 a.m.
First Quarter Recognition – Will be held in the gymnasium on Friday, November 14 at 2:15 p.m.
Extended Care – Extended Care will be offered on November 7 by registration only. This is a no school day for St. Paul’s. If you wish to utilize Extended Care on this day, please register by tomorrow (Thursday) with Mrs. Drska, Mrs. Bourdo, or Mrs. Schwartz.
B1 Girls’ Basketball – There will NOT be practice on Tuesday, November 11.
Girl Pioneer Reminder – All Girl Pioneers are asked to bring 2 or more non-perishable food items to our next classroom meeting Tuesday, November 11th at 6:30 p.m. Some suggested items are: pancake mix, syrup, cereal, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, jelly, flour, sugar, cake mix, spaghetti-os. The food will be given to our St. Paul's Food Pantry for Thanksgiving deliveries. All of the girls are encouraged to come help pack and deliver food on Monday, November 24th at 4:00 p.m. Parents are welcome to participate also.
LGP Talent Show – Please see the attached flyer for the 2008 LGP Mother/Daughter Christmas Program “Talent Show” on Tuesday, December 9th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The sign up sheet for the Talent Show is in the office. Deadline to sign-up is Wednesday, December 3.
Dress Code Reminder – Now that it is November, shorts and sleeveless shirts are not acceptable attire for school.
Wisco 8th Grade Open House – Wisconsin Lutheran High School will hold an Open House on Sunday, November 9 for 8th graders and their parents. Families should plan to arrive at 6:00 p.m. for an opening presentation. Guided tours will follow.
Wrestling – Boys in grades 1- 8 who are interested in wrestling, the Wisconsin Lutheran Wrestling Club will be offered again starting on December 8th. The cost is $25 to join and includes a team t-shirt and uniform. Wrestling Club will be held every Monday from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. I encourage all current St. Paul's wrestlers and anyone interested in learning more to participate. The club is lead by church member and former wrestling coach, Jim Ross. Wrestling and Track Team Wear – I will be placing an early bird order for team wear.New items this year - newly designed sweatshirt, tie-dyed t-shirts, stocking caps,and team cinch packs. Pick up an order form in the school office or from Andy Petraske. Orders are due by November 21 so that we have an opportunity to get the products before Christmas.

Jr. Warriors – Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 11th. We will be meeting in the “Pioneer shed” (the building behind the play structure) to work on a woodworking/Christmas project. The meeting will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m. If you have questions, contact Steve Wranovsky (414-235-3510 or ).
Children’s Choir – Please memorize the first two verses of “One Small Child”. The children were given a copy of the song today. We will be singing at the Advent Christmas Concert on December 3 at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday Ladies Bible Class – On Tuesday, November 4 we began a new study on the Book of John. Join us as we learn what John says about Jesus: the Word of God, the Bread of Life, and our Risen Savior. We meet in the school library at 9:30 a.m. All women of St. Paul's and their friends are invited. Child-care available.
Singing Schedule Change – Please note the change in grade levels participating in worship services on Sunday, November 23. Only grades 2 through 8 will be singing. Students with last names beginning with M-Z will sing at 8:00 a.m. Last names beginning with A-L will sing at 11:00 a.m. (Kindergarten and Grade 1 will continue working on their Thanksgiving program and the LES Christmas service.)

Jr. Viking Volleyball – All girls ages 10-14 interested in playing Jr. Viking volleyball are invited to an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Star of Bethlehem in New Berlin. Questions can be directed to Julie Romas (262-679-0766).

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Whitnall High School – Eighth graders interested in attending Whitnall next school year should stop by the office for a letter with information regarding placement tests being given this Friday, November 7 at the high school.
Muskego Basketball Program – Boys and girls in grades 2-6 are invited to participate in Muskego’s District Basketball Program. The goal of this free program is to offer a learning experience while introducing young people to the exciting elements of basketball. The sessions consist of instruction, fast paced drills and scrimmages. This is not a league. All sessions are held on Saturdays, beginning on November 15 and running through December 20, at Lake Denoon Middle School.
