In depth- Research on a Hot Topic in Politics

Congress has research assistants working for them at all times to do research on items that might pertain to bills being presented in the legislature. Pretend that you’re are working for a legislator and your are providing them with only current information on the topic they will be reading before voting on a bill about that subject.

Requirements:

  • Must use at least 5 sources of information (One must be from a book) All 5 sources must be cited in your paper
  • Must have a sources cited page
  • 8-10 pages for Government Honors or 5-7 pagesfor Government double spaced paper in 12 point Times New Roman font with 1 inch margins is requirednot including the title page and sources cited page. Title page and bibliography do not count towards your page total.
  • Cover all angles of the topic, not just your own personal view(s).
  • It should cover the good and bad problems of the subject, current laws, regulations, acts or legal measures already in place.

Handwritten papers will not be accepted. Typed Papers only!!! If you do not have a computer at home, you must budget your time so that you can go to the library.

No late papers or related assignments will be accepted. This paper will drastically alter your grade for the quarter. Make sure your paper is finished on time, which means at the beginning of your scheduled class period!!! You will submit your paper electronically, as well as turn in a hard copy to the teacher.
