Financial Aid - is the term referring to any program that offers money to assist with the costs associated with being a student at a post secondary institution.

Goals- things that you want to accomplish, achieve or do in a certain period of time

Program of Study – the major content area that a study selects for their degree.

GPA – Grade Point Average

Gacollege411- the free website provide to students in Georgia. It contains self assessments, goals, future activities, program of study and employment seeking aids.

End of Course Test – The exam given at the end of the academic courses in grade 9-12 in Georgia.

Zell Miller Scholarship – a scholarship for students with a 3.7 to 4.0 GPA along with a 1200 on the SAT or a 26 ACT composite. It will pay 100% tuition cost at Georgia public colleges and universities.
HOPE - Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally – a scholarship for students with 3.0-3.7 GPA in all four academic areas plus foreign language. It pays a percent of last year’s tuition cost to Georgia Public Schools.

Core Curriculum – the required basic academic course work needed to complete a degree in high school or college.

Career Clusters – groupings of related careers into one area; there are 16 national career clusters

Life Roles all the different facets to a person that change with time, personal, community member, family member, work roles, etc. ,

Outlook – what is predicted to happen in the future or at a future date

Self-selected – something that you as the individual selects for yourself

CTSO’s – Career Technical Student Organizations – extracurricular activities that go along with CTAE coursework

CTAE – Career Technical Agriculture Education – coursework leading to advancement in particular career areas

Post Secondary Options – opportunities available after high school such as technical college, university, military, apprenticeships, on-the-job training

Peach State Pathways – three specific courses that are interrelated to an occupational area in the CTAE Concentrations at the high school level

Program Concentrations – Groupings of related pathways for similar occupational interest to make up the eleven concentrations in Georgia at this time.

University – an institution of high learning that offers degrees in undergraduate, graduate and professional school divisionsCollege – a school of higher learning that grants the degree of bachelor’s. May be a division of a universityAssociate Degree – two-year degree from an institution of higher learning.Bachelor’s Degree – four-year degree from an institution of higher learning
