Department / Team Objective

Tatts Group is a publicly listed company that consists of a set of self managed Strategic Business Units. The Technology Division within Tatts Group is responsible for supplying the computing infrastructure to support the operations of the company. Technology is a shared service group, and is consolidated into a single division to maximise the value derived from the infrastructure and to achieve commonality across business units.

The Technical Systems Group is responsible for maintaining a heavily robust and highly available technology platforms to support critical systems across all business units. Position Purpose

The Wintel Engineer is responsible for the day to day management of the server platform, messaging, and core platform administrative systems across the Tatts Group environment; solving diverse and complex problems; implementing and maintaining successful technology platform solutions. Some key accountabilities include assisting architects in developing detailed infrastructure designs, installing and configuring hardware and software, deploying solutions into production, providing system incident management and monitoring to ensure optimum performance, capacity, and availability.

Key Accountabilities

§  Detailed Design: Assist Technical Systems Architects in developing detailed infrastructure designs on a project by project basis. This includes the development of a bill of materials, consideration of security and capacity requirements and creating a detailed work breakdown structure.

§  Solution Development: Install and configure hardware and software in accordance with the detailed design.

§  Testing: Test the configured solution to ensure it meets the needs of the project whilst maintaining company standards and consistency with overall architecture design. This includes performance, sociability and functional testing.

§  Deployment: Work with other infrastructure teams and IT service owners to successfully deploy required solutions into production.

§  Availability and Capacity Management: Ensure that the systems are adequately maintained to meet the desired availability targets.

§  Incident management: Manage escalated incidents, as they occur to return the system to an operating state as soon as practicably possible.

§  Change management: Define, test and implement non-project based changes in order to ensure the smooth running of the organisations infrastructure.

§  Problem Management: Assist in the determination and resolution of underlying problems with the organisation infrastructure.

§  Provide feedback and advice to team members and leaders about operational requirements and technical developments in the server space.

§  Work with business and technology stakeholders to provide network solutions on a daily basis and support to infrastructure related projects as assigned.

§  Knowledge management: Be a regular contributor to the internal knowledgebase to capture, develop and effectively use organisational knowledge and intellectual property.

§  Be available for on call roster, cyclic maintenance, DR, high severity issue resolution periodically as part of the defined support model

Person Specification

Qualifications

§  Current Microsoft Certification (MCITP, MCTS, MCM, MCSA, MCSE)

§  Tertiary qualifications or expected completion preferred

§  ITIL certification

§  Other IT relevant qualifications.

Experience

·  Up to 5 years Proven IT experience managing, designing, and implementing enterprise scale server environments with a focus on Microsoft technologies,

·  Experience maintaining and supporting mission critical 24x7 services

·  Proven experience in solving technical issues.

·  Working with ITIL or similar IT Operational Frameworks.

·  Proven experience in maintaining complex IT infrastructure

·  Exposure to highly regulated environments preferred
