How to Search the 106th Infantry Division Roster

1. Surf to

2. You will see --

3. Click on Search, right below "106 INF DIV".

4. You will see --

Note the empty boxes that now appear under each column title.

5. For this example, we will search for a 106th Veteran by the name of Eric Wood.

6. Type the last name wood and a comma in the box underneath Name. You will see --

7. click on in the orange box.

8. You will see -- (as of 08/08/2013, there are 46 different names, where each has "wood" in the last name).

9. Either scroll down to find the name you are looking for, or you can add to the name search box. In this case, leaving "wood" there, add a space after the comma and the letter "e" (without the quotes). This will narrow your search down to only three records. You will see --

10. Using all the above, you can perform many different kinds of searches. Example- You want to see all the men in the 589th Field Artillery Battalion.

Erase the previous search "wood, e", and move over to the box underneath Unit. Type 589

Hit the and you will see --

Note the right top side where it says "1 - 200 of many" You can only see 200 records at a time. Click on the "1 - 200 of many" and it will change to 1 - 200 of 623, indicating there are 623 records (or names) for men in the 589th FA BN.

11. Enter only enough info in the empty boxes to make your search. If you enter an entire name, that means that I had to enter it exactly as you typed it, or it will not find the record. Capitalization does not matter.

In finding units, again enter no more than necessary. As an example, some men are listed in a unit such as 423/3 BN/C. Another man in the same unit maybe listed as 423/C, 423/3 BN, or even just 423. All information is entered as found.
