Otterbein Selected for Regional Warren County Arts and Cultural Center

LEBANON, OH – September 18, 2009 –

On Friday, September 18, 2009 the Warren County Arts and Cultural Center’s Board of Trustees unanimously voted to select Otterbein, located on routes 741 and 63 in Turtle Creek Township, as the site for a regional center for the performing arts and a venue for local arts groups.

The Center brings value to all residents of the region with a location that is approximately 30 miles from both Dayton and Cincinnati.

“We had several very good proposals but Otterbein did the best job of meeting all of the criteria set forth in our request,” said Daniel B. Cunningham, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “In addition, the vision of the Warren County Arts and Cultural Center (WCACC) is to foster an environment that inspires, enriches and promotes visual and performing arts. Otterbein’s mission ‘to enhance the quality of life and holistic growth of older persons’ is in close alignment with the values and direction of the Center for current and future collaborative opportunities,” said Cunningham.

Over the past two years, Otterbein has been developing a master plan that will provide an innovative and memorable sense of place and a special life experience for all ages in a life-long community.

Otterbein President/CEO, Jill C. Hreben said, “We are very happy that Otterbein can be a part of the future growth of Warren County and the region. We are eager to work with the Warren County Arts and Cultural Center Board to provide a valuable resource for residents of the area and to have our vision for the future move closer to a reality.”

Moving forward with planning and development, the WCACC Board of Trustees will continue to evaluate and discuss several available options on the Otterbein land holdings.
