Psalm 150

Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!

The Psalmist tells us to Praise the Lord. To make music to the Lord with all manner of instruments because of his excellent greatness. We have a great opportunity to do this every week. Psalm 33:1-3 says, “Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.” When we praise the Lord with our voices and instruments we should do so with joy and skill. God has given his people talents and skills in order to praise him.

On September 13, we will be having our first Praise Band Jam (PBJ). This will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in fulfilling these two Psalms. We will gather together at 6:00, to praise the Lord with our instruments and voices. Every instrument and voice part is encouraged to come and play. Keep an eye on the bulletin for more information and details.

Dear FBC,

Thank you for the cards, calls, prayers and concern for us. It means a lot to know others are thinking of you and holding you up in prayer as we go through difficult times in our lives. Losing a parent is hard. Having the love and support of our brothers and sisters in Christ is very comforting.
