Vermont Green Driving School Program Information
Vermont Green Driving School is licensed by the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles to offer the required classroom and In-Vehicle driving instruction for Teen drivers desiring to obtain their Junior Operator License. After the successful completion of 30 hours of classroom instruction, six hours of In-Vehicle driving, and 6 hours of observation, the student will obtain the Course Completion certificate necessary to take the Dept. of Motor Vehicle's road test for licensing. This road test is done by the Vermont DMV office after the student has their permit for one year and has completed 40 hours of practice driving with parent or guardian. (Vermont Green Driving School does not provide DMV road testing at this time.) This class will require driving practice outside of classroom hours to build upon the skills taught in class. Please plan on driving 2-4 hours of practice time a week with your student.
Class Policy
Attendance is Mandatory at all classroom and driving lessons. The State law requires 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of In-vehicle instruction/observation. Failure to attend class or driving lessons will not allow the student to obtain the course completion certificate. Please make sure you understand this commitment of your time and plan accordingly. One classroom absence or illness can be made up, with prior permission from the instructor. Unexcused Absence (not notified at least 24 hours in advance) for In-Vehicle driving lesson will result in a $50 charge to reschedule at a later date. All classroom and In-vehicle driving must be completed within six months of the start of the first class. Please contact instructor as soon as possible if any situation prevents the student from meeting these requirements.
