6. / Description of content: The notified Mexican Official Standard is binding on shippers, carriers and consignees of Division 5.2 hazardous substances, materials and waste (organic peroxides) transported by general land communication routes.
Carriers shall agree to transport duly classified and packed Division 5.2 hazardous substances, materials and waste (organic peroxides) and must check, during transportation, that the temperature of such products is as indicated by the shipper.
7. / Objective and rationale, including the nature of urgent problems where applicable: To establish special and additional specifications for containers and/or packing, intermediate bulk containers (IBC), and portable tanks used to transport Division 5.2 hazardous substances (organic peroxides), and specifications relating to classification, desensitization, temperature regulation (in cases where products are to be transported at a certain temperature) and type of transport.
