The Mayor’s Exhibition
Guidelines and Submission Form
Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Alderman Maura Hickey, invites professional artists to participate in a unique exhibition displayed in the Mayor’s Suite from 7 April to 2 June 2017.
Due to the scale of the exhibition space, a maximum of fourteen artworks will be selected for display. As well as having the opportunity to showcase their artwork, exhibiting artists will also be invited to the exhibition launch on 6 April. It is intended that the exhibition will showcase the creative wealth of visual arts talent existent in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough. Unfortunately, artwork cannot be sold during the exhibition, rather it is a special opportunity for resident artists to increase their profile to the many local and international guests, elected members and staff of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
Artworks will be selected by a panel including Mayor, Alderman Maura Hickey. All applicants will be notified of outcome by 10 March 2017. The panel’s decision will be final and no discussion will be entered into.In respect of best practice applications cannot be considered from Council staff, Councillors, or direct family members of these groups.
Artists must:
- Submit (1) Completed Submission Form with a maximum of four photographs illustrating proposed artwork and (2) current CV work, in an envelope clearly marked ‘The Mayor’s Exhibition’ by 4pm, 24 February 2017 to Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, Cloonavin, 66 Portstewart Road, Coleraine, BT52 1EY
- Be resident within the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council
- Be professional artists/makers with exhibition experience
- Only submit one artwork for consideration (artworks can be 2D and 3D including paintings, drawings, craft, sculpture)
- If selected, deliver artwork to Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council,Cloonavin,66 Portstewart Road,Coleraine,BT52 1EY by 4pm, 23 March 2017
- Ensure artwork is clearly labelled with artist name and title of work and that it is ready to be hanged/displayed
- If selected, collect exhibited artwork between 5-9 June 2017 after the exhibition period
- Agree that images of work can be used by Council for publicity for the duration of the exhibition
