Description

Candidates research executives and their companies and prepare a written report in advance of the one-week residency. During Executives in Residence week, the Development Office invites senior executives to share ideas on managing risk and careers.

Structure

What?A one-week program bringing senior executives to campus to share ideas on managing risk and careers.

When?Fall and Spring trimesters.

Who?Senior executives from major corporationsand successful entrepreneurs interact with MBA candidates and invited guests

Where?Saint Peter’s Universityand off-site locations

Why?Network and share ideas with students, business persons, colleagues, and others

Daily Schedule

9:00-10:00Instructor and class prepare for day's activities. This includes reviewing research findings on the executive.

10:00-11:00Morning Session 1.Executive does a self-introduction and interacts with candidates on past, present, and future activities, best practices, views on management and leadership, and quality of life.

11:15-12:15Morning Session 2. Candidates and executive continue discussion.

12:30Executive and guests depart.

12:30- 2:00Instructor debriefing of class.

Advance Assignments

Two assignments are completed prior to the first day of the residency period:

  • Candidates research the careers and companies of the four executivesscheduled for theterm.They are evaluated on your questions and insights.
  • Candidates must make an appointment with someone they want to impress (a boss, successful colleague, other). They must ask for suggestions on how to maximize the experience. After the meeting, they write up what happened at the meeting.

Candidates must bring these assignments to the first class in either print or electronic form. They do not send them in advance to the instructor.

Dress Code. Business casual.

Parking. By special arrangement with campus security, candidates will be able to park on campus.

Meeting Room. The Emeritus Room is located in Pope Hall. Enter from the Library side of the building. Go up 10 steps and then straight down the hall. Turn right and the room is in front of you.
